Calling the Korean community!

Hi guys,

unusual way to approach but I need a partner in Korea for some marketing / branding work and to start with for advise how a company from Germany as an example can do business in Korea.

I am not talking about the usual cultural differences and that we should know market, enemies etc - it is more like the question if a foreign brand needs a localized logo, look and feel and general brand presence or if a global one could be successful too? We did a similar exercise already in China and Japan with this company where we had to localize and create dedicated local branding for the local markets, not sure about Korea though as the country was always more English language minded and has a strong link to the US, any help would be much appreciated.

Hope this translation makes any sense - if not forgive me

The translation below doesn't make sense but I could understand the English version clearly. It really depends on what segment you are targeting and what industry you are talking about. Korea has very wide and various segments of customers. For example, luxury fashion brands, it is better to keep the original sense and vibe, whereas in case of e-commerce localization seems to work. So it really is one-size-doesn't-fit-all for the Korean market. Even within Korea, it requires very different approach in big city like Seoul vs mid/small towns especially in case of foreign brand. Hope this helps a bit!

Great, it is a new brand in the flight taxi area focusing on B2B audience, what is here a recommendation mate?

Sorry for late response. I'm a newbie to Hive and I had depleted my RC 🤣 so I couldn't even post a reply. In my personal opinion I don't think the serious localization is needed for B2B business in Korea but I'm not a marketing specialist. Hopefully some marketing experts can help you with an idea!
