You're right, of course. However, the Constitution provided that Americans are sovereign. There is no crown in America. This means that property taxes have been unlawfully imposed, and land patents remain potential if folks do the work to ferret them out. At some point fee simple deeds were imposed that replaced allodial title, and by complete discovery of chain of title the original allodial land patents become restorable.
This isn't cheap, and won't be unopposed, but in almost every state in America it can be done.

The allodial title usually ends up being… you buy a bond to pay for the property tax.
So, you are just paying the property tax up front.
I feel, at this time, i would wait for the monetary collapse and for the govern-cement change.
And see about forcing allodial titles through, for everyone.
We are too close to the property changes. (as in, how we view property. and who owns it, and all that stuff.) Everything changes.
How about this for an instance? Property values go down, and then you sit on the city to revalue your house on the taxes. 10% of $0 will mean the abolition of property tax. :-D
