You seem to have missed the most obvious conclusion, despite referring to it in the last paragraph. Freedom is worth any price, because being enslaved ends your ability to gain, renders you subject to Bill Gates GMO jabs and whatever he wants you to be.
Only freedom enables gains.

Freedom is such a generic thing to say though.
We are all slaves to the laws of nature.
We all want to be gods and have more power.
I can't make gains until I become a god?
Or wait I have to make gains to become a god.
It's a paradox.
Becoming more free is a gain in itself.
There are also plenty of gains to be made within a system of borders.
It all exists on an impossibly complex spectrum.
