RE: The difference between investing and speculating

in LeoFinance3 years ago

I would say that both are bets because the risk of losing everything invested is the same in both cases. The difference for me would be the reasons to invest.

Right. There is a risk in both operations, but I would say that for someone who is speculating there is a higher chance of putting their money into something that has no value to anyone, and therefore losing money. The difference between a speculator and an investor is that the investor is interested in the value of what he is buying, and therefore is less likely to lose money. Or to put it another way, a speculator is more likely to buy something valueless if he thinks it is going to go up in price, but an investor would never do that. Of course, both can lose money, but the investor is going down the safe road, while the speculator is taking more risk.

Btw, you should use #proofofbrain Tag for this kind of post.

Sorry for asking, but what's that all about? Another Hive front-end with its own token? I'll take a look at it.

Cheers!

Why sorry? :) Yes another front-end with its own token but there will be only 21 millions of the tokens copying the BTC economics. Could be interesting and the idea is to have intelligent posts like the ones you write.

Cheers!
