In my continued effort to bring you low quality, repetitive, cyclical, drivel on a weekly basis, in a change from the precious metals related rhetoric i usually bang on about, i now offer to you my loyal followers, a bang average #splinterlands blog.
Without much thought, or deep contemplation, ill be sharing with you few brave souls that have taken the time to read this post, my weekly BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge!. The "share your battle" challange has ended, where the @splinterlands team asked you to share a battle with a specific monster, and now its more about a specific ruleset. This new weekly challenge definitely has its upside, as it allows a wider audience to take part, even when their battle decks are limited.
This week, the team over at #splinterlands has asked us to share a battle with the ruleset "KEEP YOUR DISTANCE". As the name suggests, ONLY monsters with ranged or magic attacks can be used. Theres NO melee monsters allowed!
This ruleset, can completely flip a battle on its head! Conventional battle plans go straight out the window, it also creates a whole new style of play. You wantnto pray you have void or void armour OR a way to combat those pesky ranged attack monster.
Lets go play #splinterlands...... Its not like you can pick and choose the rulesets for every battle! After playing what seemed like my full allocation of 50 battles, i finally came across the ruleset i was waiting for:
But doing what #splinterlands does best, they threw a spanner in the works by adding additional rulesets alongside KEEP YOUR DISTANCE just to mess with my mind and really get me thinking.
Taking these rulesets into consideration and the limited summoner choices available to me, I actually decided that for this specific battle, with these specific ruleset, I would pick my tried and tested LVL 5 Contessa L'Ament to hopefully use her -1 RANGE attack ability to give me that extra advantage over my opponents to reduce thier attacking ability.
As you can see, its not a bed line up!??! Ive managed to fill all the slots available and use up a ALL of the mana points available for this battle.

Once the two teams are revealed, I always have a quick look at my opponents set up, before hitting rumble. I like to playout in my head how i think the battle will unfold. I try and predict what i think the outcome may be, and judge how well my opponents have set up thier team. With the high mana and restricted splinters, i think ive done quite well and built a very competitive team....
So can my lvl 5 summoner take out my opponents lvl 3 LEGENDARY summoner?? Its going to be tough.... They definitely have some decent monsters out on display, especially in the tail position, pair that with several "healing" monsters, and its sure going to be a challenging battle. Lets hit rumble and see how this plays out!!
The stage was set, two strong summoners, with very different approaches, these teams are sure to give a great battle.
Summoners do their things, monsters abilities do their things, and were off!! This is going to be one heck of a drawn out battle.... I can tell that straight from the off! With my LORD A in the tank position, added to that the negative effects of both my summoner and Phantom soldier, I knew it would take a good few rounds before my tank would be taken out. The only damage was coming from my opponents lvl4 Djinn Renova at -1 healthper round.
Round two carried off where round one ended..... My magic monsters picking off his tail end, only to be rehealed.
Buck up for a war of attrition..... My monsters attack his Iziar, his monsters heal it. The only monster taking realcdamage is my lvl 5 OCTOPIDER. That fire and regret ability is killing me....
And by round 4, my Octopider was no more...
Could my luck be about to change? Has the bsttle reached a turning point??
The "reflect magic" ability of my LORD A has finally taken its toll. His SPIRIT HOARDER falls, only to be resurrected by his AFELADE BRIGHTWING. But now its judt a waiting game, as my opponents has no more aces up his sleeve or cards to play.
And then in one round, my opponent lost 3 monsters! Victory must surely be mine and jist a few rounds away
My LORD ARIANTHUS has worked his little leg-less socks off, bless him. He served me well, but he couldnt take anymore.
Theres no stopping me now. One last magic monster and then his ranged monster will fall pretty quickly.
Turns out it was a complete and utter blowout in the end, although it did take me 10 rounds to ground it out.! Im pretty chuffed with hiw that played out.... couldnt have gone any better i dont think???
I checked using the SPLINTERTOOL page, the battle shows me as having a 99% of pulling of the win.
