The House of Windsor came into being in 1917, when the name was adopted as the British Royal Family's official name by a proclamation of King George V, replacing the historic name of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. The House of Windsor has produced five monarchs who have reigned over the United Kingdom since George V chamhed the family name back in 1917.
It seems quite apt, with Charlie boy, "officially" being crowned king of the world this weekend that I help to show off the UK flagship gold coinage: the sovereign.

The coronation of His Majesty King Charles III marks the culmination of a 74-year journey to the throne and symbolises one of the most momentous occasions in modern British history. His mother, Liz, held on to that throne for 70 years and 214 days, and Charlie boy has been waiting patiently for his chance to grab the throne for a very long time.

The 2023 gold sovereign is a new Coronation Sovereign, available in both Proof and Bullion Editons to celebrate this landmark event. As an investment piece, this new sovereign is sure to fly off the shelves when it become available for general sales later this year.
For collectors of gold, and more particularly sovereigns, these examples will always return a decent ROI in the future. As a time capsule for this specific moment in history, i would always recommend, even with my complete distaste for the "Royals" , investing in coins that begin and end the Reign of, or life of figure heads in history.

I supposed you are going Chuck III's shiny new sovereign to your collection. I may just settle with him on my next 2023 gold Maple Leaf.
