Yesterday was Easter Sunday, a day that Christians believe good ol' JC rose from the dead, like some prophet zombie, and made off never to be seen again.... Regardless of faith and religious beliefs, my post yesterday touched on the fact that for the betrayal of Jesus, Judas was rewarded with 30 pieces of silver, equivalent to about £11500/$14750 in todays money.

Using known conversions and comparison, it was simple to work out what the value of the coins would have been worth in todays terms, but that only offers up half the story. If we know that 1 piece of silver was equivalent to an honest days wage back then, and up until the last century was this still still true, the question beckons- what is the true value of supressed silver these days??

Heres 2 things I genuinely believe....

  1. Inflation is a stealth tax designed to continually devalue our modern "money"
  2. Silver price(value) is being intentionally supressed

If we can show that throughout most of history, silver was used as money, and that a.good honest days work was rewarded by a good honest silver coin, we can safely say that, all other things aside:

1 DAYS WAGE = 1 SILVER COIN

Now we just have to go back and fond out how kuch silver was in thise coins, so we can see how much silverbis really worth!!

Low wages - a typical wage for male workers was about 15 shillings (75p) a week, but women and children were paid much less

Here in the UK, a hard working man would bring home 15 shillings per week (1760-1900). So whas a shilling and whats it worth??

A standard shilling was 5.66g of Sterling silver, or 92.5%. This gives a total silver weight per coin of 5.24g of pure silver. Knowing that a man got paid 15 sillings per week, and knowing the weight we can calculate the amount of silver per week a hard working, 12hrs per day, man would take home.

15 X 5.24g = 78.6g OR 2.53 troy ounce

If we know that an average UK worker earns £682 per week today, then we can calculate what an ounce of silver should be worth in today hyper-devalued currency

The average UK weekly wage is £682. That's the equivalent of around £35,464 a year (£682 x 52 weeks of the year).

Therefore, 2.53 toz = £682($855USD) - Which would mean that an ounce of silver should be £270 per OUNCE..... Its clear to see that silver prices dont reflect anywhere near that amount!! i.e. Silver prices are supressed and should be far far higher.

Eventually, as they always have done, things being equal, the price of silver should and will revert to its natural balance being a respected days wage. So far that reason, ill continue to stack silver and hope for the best.

Wow...

Very insightful. I really love thought exercises like this. It's like unraveling a mystery.

Silver will never be that high in our lifetime. Its primary use is industrial which means they have to keep it semi affordable or they will look for a cheaper option to use. So $40-$50 is about the high end of silver in my opinion, but what do I know. I’ve only been following it for over 40 years now.

In Phase One of the U.S. Monetary Correction, you'll be able to get $9 in Silver Coinage and $1 In Change, for every ounce you sell to the U.S. Treasury... Otherwise, the Melt Value will be $9 per ounce in Sound Money... By the way, that comes to 900 per ounce, if measured i Fiat Dollars...

I’d love to see silver $270 an oz!
