The ENS Domain boom was absolutely massive over the past few years with millions of ENS names being registered, sold and used. Most common names registered fairly quickly and were quite expensive to do so. Other people that were early and business saavy were able to scoop up some very interesting ones before anyone else and resell them to other people or companies for profit.
One recent example was the BEER.ETH domain selling for 30 ETH or approximately $100,000 USD when Budweiser picked it up as part of its NFT branding and promotional advertisement. Of course a name like that was already quite expensive to register since the 3 and 4 letter names have premiums tacked on. Still not a bad little profit margin for intellectual property!
Well today I happened to stumble upon an article that makes mention of Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey getting into the NFT space by first filing trademark applications for certain metaverse related ideas:

Of course any web3 user could tell you that these companies are trying to gather as many NFTs related to their particular IP or branding as they can. They are still well behind the curve in terms of understanding the technology but far ahead of the average consumer. This means there will be a learning gap and some time before things actually take off.
I happened to think about checking various ENS domain names related to Jack Daniels and of course the easy names were registered- ones like Whiskey, Ryewhiskey, Tennesseewhiskey and Jackdaniels. But I happened to find a few combinations of names that weren't taken, to my surprise!
Nobody had registered Jackdanielswhiskey.eth yet so I decided it was cheap enough for the gas right now to take the leap. I registered Wepix.eth yesterday as my very first ENS domain purchase (post coming later) and added the new NFT under this same wallet, for WEPIXDAO.
Even if they don't end up buying it from WePix it is still worth a shot since the digital realm is evolving at a very rapid pace. Mainstream narratives are starting to take hold and people want to get on board with what is new and different. The total cost, with gas included, was less than $10 for a one year registration.
There are always opportunities around the corner if you know where to look.
