I think dpos is pretty fair, if you want to buy enough or build something good enough to run the chain, then you run the chain. Those who don't like the changes can use the bug out bag of a fork, to move forward with their own project.

It just boils down to.. is what you are doing interesting enough that someone wants to put money in.. just like any other investment.

Ultimately what I'm going for here is to make people realize that resources on blockchain networks are extremely limited and just because they are abundant now because there is little demand doesn't mean we won't have to make some pretty tough decisions and compromises in the future.
