8. Fideuà, Spain
If you’re a fan of paella but you’ve never heard of or tried fideuà, then you’re in for a treat. This Valencian dish features an abundance of seafood and lemon, much like paella, but the rice is swapped out for hollow pasta tubes. Fideuà was apparently invented by accident in the early 1900s; the story goes that a fishing boat cook was preparing paella when he realized he didn’t have any rice. Thinking quickly, he subbed in pasta, and a new culinary icon was born.
