Every now and then I am still surprised about cryptocurrencies in the real world. Obviously not because I have any doubts about them (because this market has been more than consolidated for me for a few years), but rather because I can see and hear people talking about cryptocurrencies without necessarily being in the virtual world. Today was another one of those days, and I was surprised to witness elderly people commenting on such a modern subject.
No, I don't doubt the ability of older people to learn about this market (or any other more modern subject). However, at least here in Brazil, this is something unusual (in a more general way). The episode I mentioned in the previous paragraph happened while I was queuing at an ATM to withdraw cash. Precisely speaking, the three seniors (two women and one man) talking about cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
Not just talking for the sake of talking, but interacting with property on the subject. I had already witnessed other similar scenes, but today was the most substantial, because they talk with a wealth of details that left me impressed and wanting to participate in the conversation too, haha! They addressed questions involving web 3.0 indirectly (without technical terms) and exchanged ideas about how they were introduced to this economic universe.
In this last part of the conversation, I found the “clash of generations” very interesting. The elderly said that they currently have this knowledge because of their respective children or grandchildren (who had already started a life as investors). I was really tempted to talk about Hive's potential for them, but I know that would be the kind of conversation that would take a lot of time, and that wasn't exactly the best place to do it.
In summary, I wanted to write this text just to highlight that cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology may be being talked about much more than we can realize or imagine. Imagine, right now, how many conversations about these same subjects are being established between people of the same or different generations out there? Free marketing work, which has the potential to bring more and more people to the good side of the force.
De vez en cuando todavía me sorprenden las criptomonedas en el mundo real. Obviamente no porque tenga dudas sobre ellas (porque este mercado para mí está más que consolidado desde hace unos años), sino porque puedo ver y escuchar a la gente hablando de criptomonedas sin necesariamente estar en el mundo virtual. Hoy fue otro de esos días y me sorprendió ver a personas mayores comentando sobre un tema tan moderno.
No, no dudo de la capacidad de las personas mayores para aprender sobre este mercado (o cualquier otro tema más moderno). Pero, al menos aquí en Brasil esto es algo inusual (en un sentido más general). El episodio que mencioné en el párrafo anterior ocurrió mientras hacía cola en un cajero automático para retirar efectivo. Precisamente, los tres mayores (dos mujeres y un hombre) hablando de criptomonedas y blockchain.
No sólo hablar por hablar, sino interactuar con la propiedad sobre el tema. Ya había presenciado otras escenas similares, pero hoy fue la más sustanciosa, porque hablan con un montón de detalles que me dejaron impresionado y con ganas de participar también en la conversación, ¡jaja! Abordaron cuestiones relacionadas con la web 3.0 de forma indirecta (sin términos técnicos) e intercambiaron ideas sobre cómo se introdujeron en este universo económico.
En esta última parte de la conversación, el “choque de generaciones” me pareció muy interesante. Los adultos mayores dijeron que actualmente tienen este conocimiento gracias a sus respectivos hijos o nietos (quienes ya habían iniciado una vida como inversionistas). Estuve realmente tentado de hablar sobre el potencial de Hive para ellos, pero sé que ese sería el tipo de conversación que llevaría mucho tiempo y que no era exactamente el mejor lugar para hacerlo.
En resumen, quería escribir este texto solo para resaltar que es posible que se esté hablando de las criptomonedas y la tecnología blockchain mucho más de lo que podemos darnos cuenta o imaginar. Imagínense, ahora mismo, ¿cuántas conversaciones sobre estos mismos temas se están estableciendo entre personas de la misma o de diferentes generaciones por ahí? Trabajo de marketing gratuito, que tiene el potencial de atraer cada vez a más personas al lado bueno de la fuerza.
Uma vez ou outra eu ainda sou surpreendido sobre as criptomoedas no mundo real. Obviamente não por eu ter alguma dúvida sobre elas (porque esse mercado é algo mais do que consolidado para mim há alguns anos), mas sim, pelo fato de eu poder ver e ouvir as pessoas falando sobre criptomoedas sem necessariamente estarem no mundo virtual. Hoje foi mais um desses dias, e à minha surpresa foi poder testemunhar idosos comentando sobre um assunto tão moderno.
Não, eu não duvido da capacidade dos idosos em apender sobre esse mercado (ou sobre qualquer outro assunto mais moderno). Só que ao menos aqui no Brasil, isso é algo incomum (de uma maneira mais geral). O episódio ao qual eu fiz menção no parágrafo anterior aconteceu enquanto eu estava na fila de um caixa eletrônico para sacar dinheiro em espécie. Precisamente falando, os três idosos (duas mulheres e um homem) falando sobre criptomoedas e blockchain.
Não apenas falando por falar, mas interagindo com propriedade sobre o assunto. Eu já havia presenciado outras cenas semelhantes, mas hoje foi ao mais substancial, porque eles conversam com uma riqueza de detalhes que me deixou impressionado e com vontade de participar da conversa também, haha! Eles pontuaram questões envolvendo web 3.0 de forma indireta (sem termos técnicos) e trocavam ideias sobre como foram apresentados a esse universo econômico.
Nesta última parte da conversa, eu achei muito interessante o “choque de gerações”. Os mais idosos falando que tem esse conhecimento atualmente por causa dos seus respectivos filhos ou netos (que já haviam começado uma vida de investidores). Eu realmente fiquei tentado a falar sobre o potencial da Hive para eles, mas eu sei que esse seria o tipo de conversa que me demandaria bastante tempo, e aquele não era exatamente o local mais adequado para fazer isso.
Em síntese, eu quis escrever esse texto apenas para frisar que as criptomoedas e à tecnologia blockchain podem estar sendo muito mais comentadas do que nós podemos perceber ou imaginar. Imaginem, neste exato momento, quantas conversas sobre estes mesmos assuntos estão sendo estabelecidas entre pessoas de gerações iguais ou diferentes por aí? Um trabalho de marketing gratuito, que tem o potencial de trazer cada vez mais pessoas para o lado bom da força.
