In order to diversify my beginner portfolio, and to start build additional passive income streams, today I topped up my eToro account by €500 Euro, and I bought 20 shares of the AGNC Investment Corporation for $206 USD (1 share was $10.30 USD at the time of the buying of the shares).
I bought (and probably continue buying) this stock, because in addition to the good monthly dividend payment, its dividend is stable too in the previous five years.
It pays $0.12 USD dividend per month per share since the April of 2020.
Before that, it paid $0.16 USD dividend per month per share, so its dividend was somewhat higher in the past.
Of course the past performance of a stock is not a guarantee for its future performance, but at least it gives some kind of image and probability.
And since its dividend amount has been stable for approximately five years, probably it will remain stable at least in the next few years too.
Because currently I have 20 shares, the expected monthly dividend for me from this stock is currently $2.40 USD, and the annual is $28.80 USD.
Probably I will buy more of this stock and other monthly dividend paying stocks too in the future to build passive income.
Its latest dividend of AGNC Investment Corp is from the August of 2025:

I wish successful investing to everyone.
Very good idea! There are a few ETFs like Vanguard's VYM that consolidate lots of companies who pay quarterly dividends into one diversified fund. I have a percentage of my own portfolio invested in VYM and it's done fairly well. I'll probably allocate more to the dividend fund as my wife and I get older and then live off the quarterly dividends at some point in the future.
I will consider this too. Thank you.
