RE: Debunking Viral Anti-Crypto YouTube Video.

Wow. What a coincidence. I just went through and you seem to be thinking along similar lines at the same time as always. Man, I enjoy your write ups a lot.

The other day I got dissed by someone from the digital society via a chat from the place/building we were doing our monthly Swiss Hive Meetings. He claimed crypto and blockchain is just some libertarian wet dream and hot air. The guy literally popped into one of our meetings with a very negative attitude and basically wanted to hear some technical arguments why hive is different. I told him I could answer his questions later, because it wasn't the right time, since the audience also consisted of mostly newbies that didn't even know what private keys were. I didn't want to confuse them with theory as being practical makes it easier for them to get accustomed. In the chat, he went on to write "save the climate". This was in an official chat for the building we hold our monthly Swiss Hive Meetings as guests with 167 people. That was literally rude. I was thinking about who i'd love to ask to help me debunk something that. Guess who? He then sent me a link to The third Web. After I read this I am getting inspired for some debunking. I think it's eery similar, when he takes proof of work as a measure for his rant.

I grew up on NCR computers in the 80s that were thrown by companies until I got my hands on an IBM in the early 90s. Netscape Navigator on windows 3.11 and notepad just blew my mind. Internet was a universe that opened. I messed around with Fortran, Pascal, C++ in the 90s and taught HTML and Java Script at a computer technology center in Los Angeles in 1995, but I am not a computer scientist. I just think that a lot of people who claim they are, know very little about how blockchain and consensus mechanisms actually work? I also think they don't know the significance of why BFT or the Byzantine Generals Problem and how just that significantly changed how we look at freedom?

What the actual fuck are these people going to do when crypto goes x1000 over the next ten years and thousands of angry citizens come knocking at their door looking for someone to blame... lol.

"Not financial advice."

But yet they are clearly giving financial advice.
Devastating advice that's going to blow up in their faces.
Yikes.
