As the quality of solar panels improve and the cost drops, solar becomes a good investment.

Until about a decade ago, it took more energy to produce the solar panel than the solar panel produces in its expected lifetime.

It that market, solar was only good for off grid situations.

Today, solar panels return a positive investment; so it is a good decision. Of course it is not quite as good an investment as PIZZA as who can resist a pizza.
