Most of the people promoting this idea are career military men? Imagine my shock!
The funniest thing is that Astore's entire online persona is being anti-war. He's even gone as far as plagiarising Smedley Butler. Yet he's also in favour of civilian disarmament, because "Christ packed heart not heat." He's not even a Christian, but even if he were, is there a theological argument in support of personal self-defence?
