Hey man, Hive was in the plans since day 0 and we have been using it since last year to store data for our Discord game and also starting this year to store some data of the 3D game.
Automation-wise I am already deep into it with @keys-defender [you know it :D] / @marcocasario [2018 small project] and the above mentioned Discord bot.
So far we have been giving away about one free Hive account per day but the process is only partially automated (account created with a script but the rest is mostly manual). So open to suggestions there. Would be nice to be able to pre-pay some accounts (Hive or RC) and give away directly claim links. I found a github that was trying to do that but then it got buried in my todo list..
