Oregon is lovely. I don’t get down there much (we tend to go north lately on our driving adventures) but every Oregon trip is great.

It is beautiful. Ever been to Bend, Oregon? If you haven't, you should. Be sure to go to the lava tube where you can walk in total darkness, like black darkness down towards the bowels of the earth. There are lanterns at the entrance. There is no one manning it, but it is very cool. We did it back in the late 90's and followed it until we were on our hands and knees as it heads downwards and you can't get to it for the sand that's in it. Very cool!

I have not been to Bend. I was trying to convince the crew we should stay a night there on this trip, but it didn’t happen. Bend is definitely on my “want to visit” list. Though I would probably turn around in that cave WAY before the crawling part! 😄

Lol, @dfinney! It was fun, but I have to tell you that after I wrote my initial comment on your post, I was recounting it with hubby and it suddenly dawned on me: what if there had been a bear in there?! I never even gave that a thought back then! Bend is kind of on the 'hot' side of Oregon, so I don't know-do they have bears there? Hmmmm.......
