Hello dear hive community, this time I want to tell you what it was like to welcome the new school year 2022-2023 to my Beethoven Children's Orchestra. We gave a great welcome to this new school year to my children from the Pre-Infant Orchestra by giving them a promotion act giving them a certificate of their participation as the Mozart Pre-Infant Orchestra and a certificate where they are promoted to the Beethoven Children's Orchestra.
This is an orchestra made up of boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 12, we currently have 60 children who make up the orchestra, in different rows such as violin, viola, cello and double bass. This new school year we will be training new members but in the ranks of wood and metal winds.
Have you ever wondered what is the impact of being part of an orchestra at such a young age? Well, according to the structure and philosophy of the Venezuelan El Sistema, there are three spheres in which the impact of children's orchestras is concentrated. The personal/social sphere, in which an intellectual and affective development of girls and boys is manifested; the family sphere, which makes their closest and dearest beings participate in musical culture; and the community sphere, which involves breaking down beliefs about classical music as an elitist and luxurious culture.
The children's orchestras of Latin America have become essential in the artistic education of girls and boys, because they promote a process of transformation both in childhood and in their families and immediate context, towards a more committed and genuine participation of people in culture. .
The afternoon was full of emotion and joy, the children were able to enjoy a snack, ice cream and even dance a little. Also apart from living that joy for the children of that step that they have climbed, they surprised me with the delivery of a special certificate for the work we have been doing with these wonderful children.
I have been working with this orchestra for 2 years, we had a first meeting in the second year of the pandemic, so the meetings were virtual, we even had a virtual concert, and despite the young age of some there was never any impediment to achieving a excellent work.
I have always characterized myself by delivering all that is good about me in my work, I like to leave a mark and always do the best job possible, and for me the children will always be that engine to be able to continue in this beautiful career.
Apart from celebrating this great step for children, we also celebrate the 27th anniversary of the Montalban Regional Academic Center, where more than 700 musicians currently live. In the nucleus, different programs are taught, such as musical initiation, soul llanera, orchestral practice, among others, at their request we receive children from the age of 3 where they begin their journey through music. And if you wonder what is the core? It is a central and primordial organizational structure of El Sistema with the purpose of systematizing the collective practice of music, as a formative, humanistic and social organizational inclusion model, where Programs and Schools are developed and not only music classes are taught but it also teaches daily values.
