BrewDog Dogtap Brisbane

in Weekend Experiences2 years ago (edited)

As weekends go they can be full of action on the go for two days, or one busy get together social day out and one day at home getting jobs done. Whatever suits and whatever is planned, you just need energy, sociability and willing friends. The beauty is that weekends are yours to do what you want. Choice abounds which is what makes Weekend Experiences posts so full of wonderful rich diversity that are well worth reading.

As it worked out this last Sunday was a ring out day, we joined in with celebrating the birthday of one young man in the family. He chose the venue Brew Dog Dog Tap Brisbane. He likes the beer and since it was his birthday it was his choice. Why not go for an afternoon of eat drink and be merry with our young ones in the family, as well as find out about somewhere new we thought? Intrigued with the name and the location of this craft beer brewery we went on a drive down the highway to find this hidden gem of a place under the very busy bridge called The Gateway.

Here is a view through the fence of the Brisbane River. I am told that this area is a popular fishing spot for Dads and little children.

On the inside of the fence was a completely different look, full of Sunday revellers - men, woman and children all having a lovely time enjoying the food, drink and the company. It was so busy, all the tables were taken.

There was a long table outside booked for us as our little family group consisted of 8 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs. Dogs are welcomed as long as they on leads and well controlled. The large outdoor area very suitable for furry pets. Two border collies had to been exercised that morning so they were happy to sit under the table through out our time at Brewdog.

One of the border collies is Onyx. I wrote a couple of posts when I first met Onyx, here is a photo I shared about 9 months ago when he was picked up from the breeders. He was 7 weeks old.

Now look at him! He has grown up and learning to sit quietly on his lead under the table. A big run helped him settle in for the few hours we sat at the table. As a puppy Onyx looked very much a blue merle with his black, white and grey markings, but now at 9 months he now has red colouring on his face and legs, which comes from his father, a red collie. He is called a tri merle.

Children and dogs added to the rich tapestry of the noise of chatting adult guests, the waiters weaving in around the many long tables delivered beers, soft drinks, wine and food. It is totally and cleverly set up to attract customers who want a leisurely day out with family, friends and their pets. The highly entertaining few hours got the big tick from us all, we will definitely return for another Sunday afternoon for craft beer and 'epic' food. Not only was it a beautiful day for everyone, the lucky ones who did not need to drive enjoyed more of a sublime time as they drank a beer or two.

The 4 and 6 year old will come back to play the pin ball machines with their ever patient dad.

.............................................................

As per usual I am posting my Weekend Experience on Tuesday morning Australian Eastern Time. Somehow or other the time just seems to fly by, but better late than never I say.

I just cannot finish my post without an always and forever grateful mention for #beautifulSunday and #sublimeSunday @ace108 and @cOff33a. The both add just a little touch of magical zing to my Sundays.

Wishing everyone well and hoping you are loving life as much as I am.

Thank you and much appreciated. I have been wavering between writing and giving up right now so this is a nice little boost.
