RE: Extending StarLink Internet

Man, ths ASUS router looks like a evil alien device that can destroy a planet or something! :)
But if it works well, why not. And ASUS products are usually really good.

Surprising that don't have any cell phone connection where you live - must be really in the middle of nowhere.
I sometimes watch a trucker on YT, who does livestreams of all his tours. And that works surprisingly well, even in the most desolate places, like in the middle of the Arizona desert or so. Sometimes it gets a little choppy, if he is in mountainous regions, but thats rare.

Yes, we're actually not that far out from civilization and a couple decent size cities. Just lot's of hills up here and they seem to be averse to installing more towers. These hills are little compared to what we had in Colorado, where there was good coverage almost everywhere. 10 minutes to nearest town, and great coverage there, lol.

Well, the limiting factor is actually the phones, not the tower. A decent phone can usually reach near to 2 mls - thats without obstacles like hills or tall houses and such. Of course its understandable that the phone companies dont want to plaster the landscape with towers, to make sure every last corner has coverage - and then its only used once a week or so. Those things are expensive and they need to be connected to the big network themself.
Well, everything has pros and cons. At least you dont have noisy neighbours... :)
