NB Those tall purple flowers are called Verbena Bolnaris ...they grow easily from seed and because they are so tall they add another level of interest to the garden.
I have been thinking they might enjoy being planted amidst my peonies.
Most likely they would. My peonies bloom very early in the summer and only grow a couple feet tall. If the Bolnaris gets enough sun to grow around them, they will take the second shift and bloom in the fall. I lke those and purple cone flowers for that.
