Writing for me had always being tedious work, the time I spend brainstorming ideas, and the errors I end up with all led to me almost giving up. One of the important part of writing anything is organisation, and that was what I lacked before joining Hive and subsequently @theweekend community.
The prompts I've read or participated in so far have helped to build my confidence. These prompts challenges me (the writer) with different ideas, and so the time I would've spent brainstorming ideas is put into developing one giving by @galenkp .
Reading other experienced writer's prompt posts also formed an imaginary template in my head whenever I start writing, I didn't even study the community rules at first, but reading other prompt post helped me understand the does and don't even before I came across the community rules.
Another thing I like about the prompts is the freedom giving to the writer in terms of Topics, and the explanation of the prompt concepts. This allows me (the writer) to go back to the concept whenever I feel like I'm derailing from the supposed idea.
The Diversity of the prompts so far makes it a learning ground for newbies like me to write on concepts that cut across a variety of ideas, and that in turn challenges me to write better or at least try to.
I really hope that theweekend engagement prompts continue for long as this will help turn newbies into expert writers.

Hello welcome to hive and the weekend engagement @buezor
Writing is always a task that requires practice because putting in order our thoughts and make sense is not so easy, never give up, if it serves as an example I will tell you my story, I remember that when I started I had trouble reaching a maximum of 500 words which is the limit required for a publication with quality, it is assumed that if it has that length and everything has a logical sense is good.
I counted the words and I had to be lengthening my content, it was a suffering that many times I repeated until I liked it, today after two years I find it hard to write in less than 500 words, sometimes I reach 2000 thousand, crazy and this challenge leads me to focus again on a decent word limit.
You will improve and you will surpass yourself, don't doubt it.
