Don't need to see anything more than your profile picture to follow you. Always(well it's only happened once before) stoked to find fellow skaters who are interested in blockchain projects

Hell yeah dude! Plus you’re pretty much a neighbor! What part of Vermont are you at? We’re in northern mass!

I spent a lot of time up in Newport where my grandfather lived for a number of years. Completely fell in love with Jay for snowboarding in the winter.

There’s an awesome group of skaters on here, started by @knowhow92 the community is called @skatehive and we could always use another skater, past or present!

There's a skate hive community!? No shit!! Back a few years ago on Steemit I never managed to find a single person into skating and snowboarding. Maybe I just wasn't looking hard enough.

That's wild! I haven't been to Jay in a lifetime. I am in the Sugarbush area. You still come up to Vermont at all to ride? I frequently visit friends in Mass but haven't been as much lately due to obvious reasons.

I forget how I stumbled on it but I found @knowhow92 about a year and some months ago on Steem and the guys such a solid community leader. He’s busy doing some moving stuff right now but there’s about 8 or so people that consistently post skate content so it’s badass! I haven’t skated myself in about 4 years since having a kid but I’m hoping to pull the thing out of my closet next year! I have skated back from a couple places but that’s just riding, was pretty pumped that I could still kick flip though! I almost landed a 360 flip but didn’t want to push my luck lol.

I’ve been to sugar bush once a long time ago but since my grandfather lived near jay that’s all I really would go to for Vermont. Hoping I’m a couple years to explore the other mountains like smugglers and others. I went to mount snow once but it was a big group of us and was kind of intimidating it was so big lol.

Took one of my all time favorite pictures at jay, from the gondola almost at the top. Jay cloud is a real thing for sure!

Damn!!! That photo is awesome.

I headed over to check out @knowhow92 and gave him a follow after poking around a little. I'm super happy there's a skate community on here! I can't wait to look into it more tomorrow.

4 years no skate and you still got your kickflips; that's impressive! I'm a pretty trash skater, as much as I love it, and I've only "landed" a handful of tre's in my life. Usually sideways and barely moving. Snowboarding has always come much easier to me. And I love riding park. That's why sugarbush appeals to me so much; the park. I grew up in Burlington and have moved all over but just recently I kinda decided I loved the east coast and settled on Sugarbush. I really want to go to Jay though. I've become spoiled(and broke) and have been so fucking hesitant when it comes to actually buying a ticket somewhere.

Congrats on the kid!! That's awesome. Definitely a good reason not to skate for a bit

Hey, nice to meet you @herbetholmes2! If you ever feel like sharing skate content, you know in which community to share it now right? Hehehhe!

I am stoked to meet new skaters on Hive too bro! Can't wait to see some skate clips from both you and @cmplxty!

We are organizing a HUGE Game of S.K.A.T.E contest and both you and @cmplxty might wanna take a look at it!
The first trick is the POP SHOVE IT and everyone gets something for landing it!

The deadline for the first trick is on Monday so you guys have 2 days to land that shit! Hehhe!

More here :

Yo! I saw that!!

I've never really made any effort to get any skate clips. Out of my friends, I've always been by far the worst skater, so I've spent more of my "getting clips" time on the other end of the camera; I used to have a VX and did that whole thing for a few hours.

But I'll try and get some clips for HIVE though! And I did see the SKATE contest. Ironically, I kind of just signed off from Instagram a few days and decided to take a break from that platform. Can I upload the clip here to 3speak? Or, I'll just hop back on Instagram! Hhaha

Stoked to be here!

I'm pumped that you found some people to connect with for skating dude!

I had a pretty solid crew of skaters for many years, some of my friends became amateur skaters for some local and national companies before things happened that stopped them from skating the way they used to. I was never good enough to be sponsored but I think I had a fair amount of tricks I was good at, it was definitely a lot of fun and some of the best times I could have asked for growing up. One of my favorites was definitely tre's. I think I had a good style to them, with what I felt was the most stylish was a fakie tre. It might have looked like shit to others but my perspective they looked cool lol.

I have never been good at board parks, I love to ride them and hit the smaller jumps but I get nervous with speed on those areas so I know now that's my downfall lol. I always think I'm going too fast and I'm gonna clear the landing and break my leg. I've had a few tough falls over the years, nothing broken but scary nonetheless lol. I love medium jumps that have a landing area, love pulling indies and methods and stuff over them.

Jay has one of the better ticket prices for mountains in the area but the best thing about jay is the glades! I literally spent an entire day in the glades and was happy as a pig in shit. It’s so chill but challenging being in there especially on a board.

Thanks dude, I have tried to keep a low profile with stuff for our son so I don’t get hurt when he needed a lot of attention. I think nowadays I can probably try to do a thing or two again but we’ll see how it goes!

Glad that we connected man, it’s hard to find New England people on here sometimes! Especially skaters!

I'm definitely glad we connected. Until you brought all this to my attention, I was still under the misconception that there was absolutely no skaters or snowboarders on HIVE; or rather I'm talking about my past experience with Steemit. I think I must of just missed when that changed- I stopped really using the platform in the beginning of 2018 due to complications with tech difficulties/mental health problems.

I'd love to check out Jay. I've been fortunate enough to always snowboard for free- whether that be from employment or "sponsorship"(more like just connections in which mountains would put me on their "team"; but I never really considered myself a serious sponsored rider); that in combination of constant financial and car difficulties; the thought of buying a ticket to other mountains has been a very unrealistic thing in my mind in the past. But, things have been getting a lot better for me over the past few years(well, pre-COVID, that is 😂), so I'm definitely more open to going to other mountains in the future.

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.
