On Sunday, our family took a road trip to another state.
We went to spend some time together as a family and get to know the place where my maternal grandmother grew up.
We went with a cousin who lives in that area, so he could guide us to the river.
Although we didn’t go swimming, we dipped our feet in the water a little, took some photos, and explored places we’d never seen before.
We were in Carabobo state; the river is in Pira Pira.

Traveling in the Philippines might end up leading to prison, because corrupt policemen like to extort money from foreigners. If they don’t receive payment immediately, they may file a charge and put an innocent traveler in jail. This scheme is carried out by policemen, prosecutors, and judges. It operates automatically; corrupt policemen do not need connections or to bribe a prosecutor in advance. More about the history of corruption can be read here: [Corruption in the Philippines] A Theological Understanding of Power for Poverty Alleviation in the Philippines 4/82
A road trip with the family is not just about reaching a destination. It's about the journey itself. I'm glad to see that you had a quality time to connect with your beloved loved ones. 😇
