THE TWISTS AND TURNS OF LIFE. WANTING VS. BEING ABLE.

Blessed weekend, dear Hivers. On this occasion, I have selected:
Why haven't you achieved what you originally set out to do in life? Explain.

Life is about decisions, from the simplest to the most complicated, all with their tragic or glorious consequences, and sometimes grey ones, since life has nuances. In many of these decisions, we have control, while in others, due to the vagaries of fate, we have no say, like a ship adrift without sails, letting the current carry it along.
If we had control over all the decisions in our lives, it might be boring because that touch of randomness is perhaps what makes it interesting. Let's say, who would enjoy a life where we knew the outcome of our decisions? In my opinion, no one. The excitement of the unknown is what makes it exciting, like novels or films that leave a powerful message. That is why stages and their consequences come into play. Returning to the chosen topic, I always wanted to be an architect from an early age. I was drawn to designing, creating, drawing, and I produced promising work, but wanting is one thing and being able is quite another. I always wanted to, but I didn't always have the opportunities. There are always people who are lucky enough to get them, but there are those who didn't. In my case, it was factors such as the situation in the country that led me to study what I could, as I didn't have the financial means at the time. As a result, I diverted my goal of becoming an architect to a related career in civil engineering, graduating with great pride and sacrifice, with the intention of practising and prospering in the field. However, another barrier came my way in a direct and overwhelming way: the situation in Venezuela, where job opportunities are scarce in my field. As a result, I work in administration to support myself and acquire other skills.
Therefore, it is often not just a matter of wanting to, it is a matter of being able to, and when you cannot, you cannot, and those who are lucky enough to take advantage of their opportunities should do so! Because if it's what you really want, you'll be happy doing it. As the famous saying goes, ‘Work at what you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life.’ And if you don't succeed, there are always other paths to take. Life doesn't stop because of one decision, since even not making a decision is a decision in itself, if you'll pardon the redundancy. But above all, choose. Always choose.
Be happy in your own way, persevere, and sweeten your life. See you next time.
