There are many paths to find ourselves (or one that manifests itself in various ways) and I think we choose the one that best suits our taste. My path has not been / nor is it that of the “soul mates” nor that of the “twin flames” (maybe it is the same but with another name, I share many things you mention).
As you rightly say, it is not possible to find our own identity without facing the difficulties that the universe puts on us. These difficulties usually have names and surnames. And these difficulties call us to be daring, to be so daring as to “die” to be reborn: and the only way I know is the way of light (you can call it love). I do not know any other. Forbearance with ourselves and with others.
I love reading you, you know, and watching with a knowing smile as you find your own way. I have read the pdf, I will read it again, for sure.

Each of us knows what we have experienced and how we have experienced it. Of course, what you point out is the main thing, because we are not talking about two different parts that complement or need each other, but about one and the same being. The goal or focal point of this kind of connection is growth and evolution. It is not romantic, although that can happen in the final union. In fact, there is talk of synchronicities and telepathy between twin flames. Anything can happen in that realm. Anyway, it is a very exciting and vast subject. 😉
