A Weekend to Remember: My Journey of Farming, Friendship, and Farewell

Hello fam!
Trust we're all doing fine?
Weekends for fun (smiles)

This weekend is an absolute whirlwind of activity for me and my friends—Abraham, Desmond, and myself. It all started with the crisp morning air and the promise of a day filled with both work and camaraderie. After a fruitful day on the farm, we felt invigorated and ready for the next adventure.

With our spirits high and our stomachs full from a hearty meal, we set out to support a friend in his time of need—the burial ceremony of his father's sister. We made sure to finish all our house chores beforehand, knowing we wouldn't want any distractions once we arrived at the burial ground.

After fueling up our motorcycles, we embarked on the journey to the distant location where the ceremony was taking place. Despite the distance, we arrived safely, ready to stand by our friend and offer our support in any way we could.

As the day unfolded, we found ourselves fully immersed in the rhythm of the ceremony—dancing to the beat of traditional music, offering our condolences, and contributing to the financial support of the grieving family. But amidst the solemnity of the occasion, there was also joy to be found in the culinary delights that awaited us.

The aroma of fried rice and chicken, the comforting warmth of pepper soup, and the rich flavors of afang soup—all served generously—provided a welcome respite from the emotional weight of the day. And of course, no feast would be complete without a selection of refreshing drinks to wash it all down.

As the sun began to set, we made our way back home, our hearts full of memories and our stomachs satisfied. And to cap off our unforgettable weekend, we indulged in one final treat—a sumptuous pork feast shared amongst friends, a fitting end to a weekend filled with laughter, love, and cherished moments.

In the tapestry of life, weekends like these are the threads that bind us together, weaving tales of friendship, resilience, and the enduring beauty of shared experiences. And as I reflect on our weekend escapades, I do so with gratitude for the company of my friends and the memories we've created together.

Thank you so much for reading.
Do have a nice weekend too.

Au Revoir (Goodbye)!

You did had a good weekend. Well done.

Yeah..

Thank you very much 😊

It is interesting to see that in many cultures, there is a custom of sharing food after a funeral, as you tell us in your post. In Latin America we have that custom too.

Yeah..
