Just sitting on my bed holding my phone and waiting for that one call to come in while all my friends were talking to their lovers. Checking my phone if it’s off and talking to myself.
Why can’t I find a lover just as my friends, i thought to myself.
I Got tired of watching and listening to them, I took my phone and decided to make some friends on Facebook. I checked my friend requests and I saw that I had received so many friend requests, I started accepting the requests so I could make some friends.
While going through the profiles, I came across one and I thought to myself “oh well he looks good”, I accepted his friend request and sent a waving emoji 👋🏽 He replied “ with how are you today ” and I answered “ I’m good ”.
For a while I was been flirty, till I decided to check out our mutual friends on Facebook, it was when I got to find out that we had only one mutual friend and also I knew the girl. He bares same surname with our mutual friend and i immediately knew that they were family and if I was right that means I know his family members but don’t know him, interesting I said to myself.
I messaged him asking him about his family and he confirmed that the girl was his younger sister and I was correct I knew his family members, I told him about his family and asked why I have never met him, he said “ thank God we did not meet in my house” because then we won’t be close.
After we found out our parents knew each other the bond between us became stronger, our chat moved from just been flirty to something more, we were craving to see each other. I was in school (university) which did not make it easy for us to meet. We started having long conversations over the phone, then the love became more visible, we would talk for hours before I go to bed.
He never had to ask me out because with the vibes we were getting, we already knew it was a go for us. With the thought of meeting each other we started planning where and when we were going to meet, I was so happy and I could not wait to round up for the semester.
Finally it was time to go home and meet my one true love, I became nervous and scared lol, with different thoughts rushing through my mind “ what if he does not like my appearance” “ what if I don’t like the way he looks” I had so many thoughts even though we had exchanged pictures I was still nervous. Reaching home we planned on seeing each other the next day, I was so happy that I even got new clothes so I could look cute and presentable.
I went to the address we planned on meeting, immediately I saw him I could not stop smiling, I was smiling to the extent that all my teeth was out 😁😁 we hugged each other and kissed like no one was watching. That kiss was the best part for me and it was so nice that when I got back home I was still touching my lips with smiles.
Meeting you was not the first day of the rest of my life; it was the first day of the best of my life.
