RE: Weekend-engagement topic week 48: Someone special

Crime? I have no idea what you mean.
We have never dealt with crimes.
We are dealing with abuse of the platform.
Such as the theft of other people's content and posting as own to deceive the community and monetize this content.

The plagiarist "regenerette" will stay blacklisted, just as this plagiarist previous account "regeneretta" was blacklisted

Sort:

After going over the account and seeing only a few infractions where they forget a source of the material used in their, not entirely sure she warrants a plagurism flag in the slightest, not to mention after losing her account once to a phishing attack and pushing through that to come back to the community.

Asking for an appeal on her behalf from this blacklist and auto-downvote shit. If she fucks up again I'll downvote her myself, But I don't think her intentions are that of a plagurist, and rather this is a teachable opportunity to help a new user "learn the ropes" instead of just marking them as a spammer and throwing away the key.

Get back to my ASAP please. I've explained to her that if you use outside source material other than your own original writing you must include a link to author or mention original source. Shit canning users this new that have already been given ample reason to leave buy other difficulties faced is silly, and calling in a blacklist flag shouldn't fall onto the choice of a single individual ever.

Calling a person a "plagiarist" after from what I can tell is ~6 or less incidents where they used text from elsewhere without quoting source..? Eh, by that definition we're probably looking at half the accounts here getting flagged then.

Anyways, I request and appeal on her behalf, she knows what she needs to focus on to not do anything perceived as future plagiarism. Talk soon @hivewatcher

@klye

I will remove the blacklist. The next time it will be permanent though, so please make sure that this user does not steal someone else's content on mass again.

Just as the user was stealing other's content on an old account (long before being phished):
https://peakd.com/hive-160446/@regeneretta/just-read-this

And now caught stealing on mass. The user being caught with plagiarism in multiple posts (spinning/rewriting to avoid detection) just in the last week alone.
And the user has the audacity to loudly and falsely deny make herself a victim, using excuses and trolling Hivewatchers on Twitter.
Just because we only commented on few posts last week, does not mean that there are only these.
The whole blog is one mass theft of content.

She never provided the source of her spun/rewriting (it is all shown on the blockchain). Even if she did, that would either be an attempt to copy-paste or plagiarism (as she did not get permission to use this original author's/website copyrighted content).

She claims that she forgot the sources (typical, naive, false claim used as an excuse which we have heard hundreds of times by now from all sorts of plagiarists)
Someone can "forget" the source once. Not a flood of "forgetfulness" dozens of times.

Thank you.
Trust evokes trust.
I'll see into this matter not to repeat from now.

For complete transparency:

I have posted from @regeneretta an article about our new company and coin here, https://ecency.com/hive-160446/@regeneretta/just-read-this

Feel free to contact Email: [email protected], Uwe will tell you if the content I have used on my article belongs or not to my website = https://mysafecrypto.info/ is my website, which is a replica of what we first created on https://worldcryptolife.com/mall/ and improved after. My website is the first replica of the first website, meant for marketing purposes. After this first site, we have created several for the early adopters of our coin.

Uwe Uhele is the one in charge, just mention my name, simply @regenerette and he will tell you that specific content belongs to me, our whole team has changed it sometimes for other duplicate sites after we have launched the first replica (my website) after Uwe's main website.

All the information I have provided back then in my article was already under copyright: ©Copyright - mysafecrypto.info which is my website, made by the same guy who owns https://worldcryptolife.com/

I appreciate the fact that you have changed your mind. And with your permission, I will report hate speech, plagiarism, and much more happening around Hive, things that sometimes go unnoticed. Just tell me how and where should I report these things, @hivewatcher

Thank you, @klye, @wil.metcalfe, @logiczombie, and @anthonyadavisii! Your guidance and support mean a lot.

<3 thank you for the blacklist removal. I'll try and keep an eye on her. I gave her shit for not including sources so I think she's aware now that it's a requirement.

I agree that once or twice is gine, shit happens.. BUt yeah, if it continues to be an issue then it's a true issue. I think she'll smarten up to be honest. Seems genuine enough.

Thanks for the consideration! Have a gooder captain!

Thank you for doing the in-depth detailed work that you do @hivewatcher.

Keeping content original and authentic is really important to the continuance and integrity of the Hive Blockchain. It’s probably a huge head ache and takes up a lot of brain juice but someone’s got to do it if we want to maintain Hive as the go-to destination it is becoming!

I’m sure that sometimes this feels like a thankless job.... but what a necessary one it is! I can only imagine (in horror!) what it might be like around here without people who care like you do!

However... as a person who values integrity, unique authenticity, and authentic well written content combined with connection, I also value friendliness and substantiation.

Considering we are dealing in fact here, is there not a public repository where situations can be logged in a case by case way?

Because we are a decentralized community of people posting rich content (some of which could be quoted sources to add layers of meaning and depth) I think it might be a wise future forward implementation to avoid potential negative vibes and mutual mystification.

The more clear cut we can make things the more decentralized and trust compounding our processes can become strengthening the community culture and the foundations of friendliness that spring from this. Securitization AND a welcoming environment are both imperative to all of our success here on the Hive Blockchain.

When it comes to content... I get the vigilance. Content is the substance of what makes up people’s lives... and that’s why people care about it so much! (Especially here on the Hive Blockchain!) We want a culture like this on Hive. One that protects and values genuine effort and input. Content that people care about... but we must also preserve the friendly welcoming nature of this community. It’s vitally important if we are to continue growing and bringing more amazing people and real substance into the network.

Thank you for reading and your consideration and thank you for giving @regeneretta a pass as I think she’s presently doing her best to represent Hive favourably on and off this blockchain.

I believe that the more people invest (in time and capital) into making Hive their home... the less likely they are to have shortsightedness in their actions and the more likely they are to respect and value the reasons behind why this place is different and works as a way to value information and content.

Let’s all keep doing good and spreading “Good Wil”. 😉

This account has noted plagiarism? Curious to review the reports if there is a way to pull it up. The downvoted comment in this thread seems to be a genuine contribution.

Adding a comment to the downvoted comment with links to substantiate the alleged pattern of abuse would be helpful for community transparency. Wonder how difficult that would be to work in. 🤔

The evidence left in out multiple comments is clear. I am not going to copy you a link to the "replies" section of the blog. I am sure that you are able to find it yourself.
