I also love that books add mass, gravitas to a room. I am sure they are great at insulating spaces in some way.

The "slices of dead tree" as we know them now are pretty young in the context of humanity's age, and I think I am grateful that I won't be around to see the day the last printing press shuts down.

At least, I hope it doesn't happen in my lifetime.

Gosh, I can't even imagine. I mean, if you're reading books, others your age must be? So it surely won't be in your life time - but maybe in teh future. Or they'll become rarer, and more valuable again?
