Weekend Blues: The Lady In Blue On The Blue Bridge (WE120)

Happy weekend everyone. Here comes another Weekend Engagement Concept by @galenkp. I am always amazed by how he come up with his concepts. Interesting as usual. This week is more about color, nature, and adventure. Three of the concepts were my bets, but I am more interested in the Weekend Blues.

When I first read the Weekend Blues concept, the first thing that came to my mind was our one-day visit to two of the most beautiful spots somewhere in the farthest part of Hong Kong Island. They weren't just pretty places, but all seemed blue in fine weather.

Weekend Blues: The Lady In Blue On The Blue Bridge

One sunny weekend in the Spring season, Jane and her buddy opted to have a small trip to kill their boredomness. In her blue pants, she sets off to visit the beautiful Cape D' Aguilar of Hong Kong. She had only seen the place in different social media posts. She was stunned. A sanctuary and a paradise. That's what she felt when she stepped into this place.

All of God's creations seemed to be in one place, and the weather was just in sync with her mood. The blue ocean meets the blue sky, so calming and mind-restoring. The earthy rocky shores perfectly complement the green capes. The combination of all was like a beautiful real masterpiece to behold, and all were perfect in her eyes.

Despite the scorching sun, she spent the whole morning and early afternoon wandering and exploring hidden paradises in the area. Her thoughts were filled with breathtaking scenery, and her eyes were blinded by the blue hues of nature, admiration, and satisfaction.

Time seemed to run slower as she enjoyed the company of nature. She sat at the edge of the cliff, and just admired the beauty of the blue ocean to her content. The tranquility of the place was satisfying. And at some moment, she felt diverted to another paradise she never thought existed.

Further in the distance, was a glimpse of outlying islands. They looked so tiny that she could hold them in her hands. They seemed near, yet so far. The smell of the fresh salty water lingered in her nose, and the sounds of the tumultuous waves splashing on and off the shores were inviting. And if only permitted to swim in the area, she would take off her blue plants and dive into the blue waters.

When she and her friend felt satisfied with exploring the paradise and taking beautiful photos, they bid goodbye to Aguilar. It was half an hour past 4 in the afternoon, but they felt like the time was still young, so they visited a small village with a beach located a few distances from the place. Off they went and traveled by minibus to Shek-O. Another hidden paradise in a secluded place on the southern part of Hong Kong island.

The sweat that was trickling down her face and back since her jacket was on, it had been dried off by the wind as she sat next to the window of the minibus. They drove and traveled along a quite narrow road, lined with lushing trees and more green pastures on both sides. Her admiration for nature continued until they got off in a small village filled with tourists.

Unfamiliar with the place, she asked for directions to the blue bridge, which she had been seeing in different online posts. While walking down the alley surrounded by low-rise residential buildings and restaurants, she was reminded of the villages in her country. The tranquil ambiance and simple life of villagers can be seen all over the place, which resembles the provincial life in her hometown.

Walking down the village, they stumbled upon a Buddha school that seemed like a Chinese temple. Following the given direction, they went down the staircase behind the school, and there they found the blue bridge.

Bluer than blue. It's a song, but not the feeling she felt while traversing through the bridge. She felt a sense of excitement and liking, as the color is one of her favorites. With the blue sky, blue ocean, and blue bridge all in one place, anyone wouldn't feel blue, but rather calm.

Can there be bluer than them? She thought.

She lingered on the bridge for a moment, watching the locals and tourists enjoying the scenery. Some were picking sea shells and playing in the low tide waters down by the bridge on the left. Some were having photoshoots on the rocky platforms on the right. Meanwhile, some couples were having prenuptial photoshoots on the bridge.

As the sun slowly went down the horizon, it was another beauty to witness. She was facing the west and just admiring the beauty of the sunset, which created an illuminating path on the water. The blue sky slowly faded as well, and the passing time reminded her to leave the place before dusk appeared.

The lady in blue left the blue bridge as she couldn't stop the time from running. Before leaving the area, she took a last glance at the bridge and at the blue ocean. She promised that someday, she would visit the bridge again. And when it happens, she would spend a long time on it, so she could visit other beautiful spots in the village, especially the beach.

Happiness and satisfaction. That's what she felt at the end of her journey, as she was able to visit two beautiful places in just one day.

Happy weekend everyone! Just sharing the two beautiful places we visited last Spring, and those were the moments and what I felt while in those places. Featuring the lady in blue (yours truly) on the blue bridge. We only spent 2 hours in this village (Shek-O) as most of our time was spent in Cape D' Aguilar. Before summer ends, or probably in Autumn, we are planning to visit Shek-O again to get more photos that would be great for my travel blog 😊. Besides, the beach in this place is one of the famous beaches that we should visit too.

That's all for the Weekend Engagement. In case you haven't made yours yet, feel free to visit this link click here to know more about the concept.

Enjoy your weekend and happy Sunday.

An interesting story and a beautiful place. I associate blue with freedom, maybe this bridge also symbolizes freedom because of something that happened in the past or maybe it is the favorite color of the one who made it 😊, but it is very attractive anyway.

There is a story behind this blue bridge. You'll find it out once I made a blog about this place hehe

That's great. I look forward to reading it. 😊

Bluer than blue that it is true what a lovely descriptive writing all surrounded in blue.

The place is indeed beautiful!
I was wondering why the bridge was painted blue. Maybe there’s a story behind it or maybe not? It’s not usual to see that color for a bridge. 😅

The blue waves and the rocks formed from the waves are terrific! I could imagine myself there for hours, just enjoying the view and listening to the waves. ☺️

Yup, there is. I am saving that story for my travel blog about this place. Need to go back there to take more photos since we only stayed that day for 2 hours or less. The beach here is also pretty 😊..
