Lived very similar in early years, not much bought rather made or grown to sustain the family. Four siblings with our parents we had many fun times, adventures and travel.

No regrets to all clothing made in the home as Mom was excellent behind her foot peddle machine, Dad a amazing gardener and cook, all in all well rounded formative years.

Still of the feeling this hands on approach was far better than all the technology in the world, few actually dig deeper to explore more using their imagination or crafting a skill with their hands.

I couldn't agree more! I still prefer washing dishes by hand, but I draw the line at thumping my laundry on a rock lol
