Violence has never been a solution, I can honestly say I have seen/heard of some very traumatic things, but this scares a person as brutality metered out is random.

And I am very glad that I don't know such things at all. We do have terrorism and such though, but even these sound almost harmless. Anybody could be the next - wrong time, wrong place and you burn :(
