Mi visita el pasado domingo al mercado de Iñaquito de Quito, Ecuador. Fue casual y casi que condicionada por mi búsqueda de Guasca, una hierba clave en el famoso plato colombiano. Ajiaco. Pero mientras le buscaba me encontré con un mercado muy bonito, limpio y de gente muy cordial. Todo muy organizado en pasillos con señalizaciones en donde se especifica qué productos están ahí. Algo que me gustó mucho.
Es enorme el mercado, hay desde frutas, verduras, artesanía, pociones y hierbas “místicas” que son usadas para curar o enamorar, etc. Algo que me pareció particular, pero todo es fascinante. También en el mercado está un altar católico, en donde podemos rezar y prender alguna vela a Dios. Algo que me llamó la atención es que también puedes comer la comida típica ecuatoriana, todo muy organizado y con muy buena atención pero eso se los muestro luego.
Pude hacer muchas fotos y por eso tengo que dividir el post en dos partes, es mucha información. Pero tendrán todo lo necesario para ver y saber sobre un mercado interesante, donde reinan los colores, aromas, buena atención y gente como Rocío quien amablemente me permitió hacerle las fotos.
El alma ecuatoriana se siente en el mercado de Iñaquito, su maravillosa gente, cultura y sus sabores están tan presentes que no provoca salir de ahí. Créanme que vale la pena visitarle, caminar, comer y apreciar la calidez humana de su gente.

My visit last Sunday to the Iñaquito market in Quito, Ecuador. It was casual and almost conditioned by my search for Guasca, a key herb in the famous Colombian dish. Ajiaco. Something I really liked.
The market is huge, there are fruits, vegetables, handicrafts, potions, and "mystical" herbs that are used to heal or to fall in love, etc. Something I found particular, but everything is fascinating. Also in the market, there is a catholic altar, where we can pray and light a candle to God. Something that caught my attention is that you can also eat typical Ecuadorian food, all very organized and with very good attention, but I will show you that later.

But you will have everything you need to see and know about an interesting market, where colors, aromas, good service and people like Rocio who kindly allowed me to take pictures.
The Ecuadorian soul is felt in the Iñaquito market, its wonderful people, culture and flavors are so present that it does not provoke you to leave. Believe me, it is worth visiting, walking, eating, and appreciating the human warmth of its people.
