In life, we often face decisions that shape our future and also our current lives. For some, prioritizing their career over a relationship is a deliberate choice which is caused by circumstances and aspirations and some still prioritize relationships over career but for me i have chosen to prioritize my career over relationship and these are the reasons why i have done that.
1. Pursuing personal goals
For me, since i was a kid i knew what i have always wanted to do when i grow up which is fashion designer and that's what I'm currently doing and it's actually paying off because i give it all my best and thanks to my grandma that taught me everything i needed to succeed in this business.
These are some of my highest selling clothes which i did by myself
I mostly model my clothes by myself because I'm also a part time model and the other time my friends usually model for me especially if it's a bigger design.
2. Seeking financial stability
A successful career and for me which is fashion design often brings financial stability and security and since i have been doing well, i have never for once start begging someone to get things for me, i purchase what i want and if I can't afford it, i will leave it. Since i have started Prioritizing my career i can assure myself that my financial future is secured and i am also able to provide for myself and my loved ones comfortably without asking for help from my other partner and also becoming a burden to him.
Since my last relationship where by everything i purchase depends on my partner and everytime it looks as if I'm only in that relationship for his money and i went through so much abuse sometimes when i ask him for help and when we break up, i realized i had to focus on my career. Since i made that decision, everything has been going well and i can travel to places without asking for financial support from anyone and spending wisely at the same time.
3. Independence and self reliance
Since i started prioritizing my career over my relationship, i have been able to shape my life according to my own terms and also been able to influence other people life, especially those that want to become a fashion designer like me. I help them in every possible ways i can and sometimes i take some to seminars and places that can empower them better.
4. Past experiences
Lastly, Like i have said before my past experiences has been one of the major influence on why i chose to prioritize my career over relationship. I remember everything i faced in my last relationship like it was yesterday such as the challenges in relationships and also the challenges i faced after the breakup when i realized, i have committed too much time in the relationship and never for once give those time to my career and to the extent i was a liability in that relationship.
After my break up, i decided to prioritize what is more important for me as someone that just went through a phase whereby i chose relationship over career and then I started realizing everything i did wrong before entering the relationship. Now I'm doing fine by myself and I'm not in a hurry to enter another relationship and the person coming into my life must know that that we have to balance our relationship and career because I don't want to undergo what happened to me in the past.
Me prioritizing my career over relationship doesn't mean i am neglecting relationships altogether. The key is to fnd a balance between career aspirations and personal connection and that's why effective communication and mutual understanding is needed when going into a relationship.
In conclusion, my decision to prioritize my career over a relationship is deeply personal and influenced by various factors which has happened to me in different phases of my life and still happening even while I'm still attaining my financial freedom. In the end, it's about aligning priorities with individual goals and aspirations. Each person's journey is unique, and what matters most is making choices that resonate with personal values and contribute to long term fulfillment and success.
