My "Sense of "Humour" is my coping, my defense, and the keeping of my sanity mechanism. But it does have a breaking point. That point this week is this...

In the summer time I do inside projects and limit the outdoor projects to just the necessary things such as yard work and truck repair/maintenance issues. I do those in the early morning hours when possible.
We had tree removal scheduled for the end of August to mid September. They decided to do it early and have been here on my neighbors and my property since the beginning of August.

I had looked forward to the clearing then cleaning up of the property during late September into October when the evenings and mornings become cooler. Right now I am failing to see the "βπ¦ππ π¦π£" of a property that looks like a tornado touched down. I am surrounded by nearly twelve acres of debris. A tinderbox fire hazard that smells absolutely wonderful. The smell of pine is overpowering. I actually enjoy that part of it. The irony of this is funny right?

This will be a brutal, dog days of summer, well over a month early cleanup. The normal Florida summer sauna heat is still here. And care must be taken to not KILL YOURSELF by overdoing it and HEATSTROKING to the point of passing out and FALLING OVER DEAD. That is the one thing that I have learned the hard way with a trip to the emergency room about ten years ago. since buying this property and spending nearly 27 years clearing and landscaping it. Planting trees, building fences, digging a near acre sized pond. Countless hours. Well, I guess they were countable, but I lost track at several thousand hours many years ago. We have an agriculture tax exemption. So that makes this property a tree farm. A nearly 8 acres of pines tree farm that we had clear cut (almost clear) once before in 2005. So we knew what a mess this would be. Also what a major pain in thee ass the cleanup would be.

We Replanted the pines in 2007.
Not wanting a totally treeless property when clear cutting we left nearly 200 of the straightest healthy looking pines. A HUGE mistake that we payed for constantly.
The hilarious constant falling limbs, pine cones, and needle debris. "Gutter Clutter" that requires monthly unplugging and cleaning of the rain gutters on both the house and garage is pure madness. Those gutters supply the pond full of turtles, fish, and frogs with much needed rain water. The threat of these not so funny 100 foot monster pines falling on our structures was now a very serious problem. When our neighbor recently had to clear cut his 8+ acres of pines early due to a beetle infestation. We decided to have the large 37+ year old pines cut down as they would do this and pay us a small amount for these pine monsters. They are actually too big to be of much value. Many were too large to be harvested easily by the loggers machinery. They required the more time consuming hand cutting with large chain saws. A not so funny procedure in this heat. This also was No easy task as many of them were very close to the house, garage and shed buildings making it hard to get the machinery properly positioned to fell those pine monster trees. Power lines and other trees we want to save added danger to this task. Here are some of the first photos taken of the Saturday August 12th 2023 Cleanup.
Please Enjoy with Me these "Not So Funny Hot Times"...

So stop on by and you can pitch in and help with this cleanup. Oh do not worry. There will he plenty of profanity laced one liners and belly laughs for all.
Has anyone here on the Hive ever had a near death experience that was heat related?
Thanks for reading and...
A buddy of mine across the way has all those bush hog, digger, loader, dump truck things. I operate each of them, never know when I might need one.
Shoot me your address. He doesn't have one of those tree dragging monster trucks, I should learn how to operate it.
The Manger at the place across from you is not your neighbor...

Never too late to tell me how you really feel iGuess.
Tree sure gives shade but makes a mess into gutters, cutting mid summer not a wonderful idea with heat and humidity...
Sweating of out, to remove π
Yup hot an humid here in summer, cook and egg on the tar road, or on a rock close to the truck there.
