I was a real danger… 🤭🚕🚗🚌

Greetings, friends of WEEKEND EXPERIENCES! ❤️

I hope you're enjoying a wonderful weekend. Here's my take on this weekend's engagement topics. I'll tell you why I chose the following topic:

What were you incompetent at doing but through hard work and effort became proficient at doing? Explain.

I was a disaster. I never imagined I could do it well. While learning, I would come home tense and scared, but with determination, I succeeded, and today I can say I'm an excellent driver. 🚘 I learned to drive when I was approximately 23 years old. I had previously tried to do so, but I simply couldn't do it; it's not easy in someone else's car.

It was precisely at that age that I managed to get a loan and buy my first vehicle. It was a Chevrolet Caprice from 1980 (my year of birth). The area where I lived had streets with fairly steep hills. The first day I had my vehicle, the disasters began. I had nowhere to store it, and a friend lent me her garage, but she lived about 10 blocks from my home, so I dared to drive my own car with no experience.

I waited for nightfall to avoid traffic, started the car, and started it immediately. It was the excitement that hadn't crossed my mind that I should warm up the engine a bit before starting. I drove around the first two blocks and everything was normal. As I was about to hit the third block, one of these steep hills was coming up. As I was going up, the car stalled. It was cold, and no matter how hard I tried to brake, I couldn't, ending up at the bottom of the block, crashing into a vehicle that was parked there.

But as they say, "every cloud has a silver lining." After this crash, I met a great friend, and he was the one who taught me how to drive. We spent several weeks practicing. This friend was very patient with me and taught me almost perfectly. But mastery of the vehicle is one thing, and when you have to go out and interact with traffic in general, it's quite another.

My desire to learn to drive was very strong, at first it was quite complicated, there were several crashes 🤭, I remember that in one of these I tried to flee, ha ha, since I didn't even have a driver's license, I really was a danger on the streets, ha ha, but despite everything I kept insisting, I had to answer for these crashes, and little by little I managed to be much more cautious.

After a few months I started working in public transport, I can assure you that this was my best school, at that time it was very fashionable to work with five-seat cars and the fight to get passengers was quite strong, so it was necessary to be very clever behind the wheel, it was like a competition, driving at high speed to overtake other cars, and thus be able to do a lot of services and be able to make a lot of money.

I did this job for over 10 years, there were many inconveniences that I had to go through, between accidents, vehicle failures, among other things and in part, all of this helped me to have a lot of reaction behind the wheel, and to all of this I am grateful for the experience that I have today behind the wheel, I had the opportunity to drive a 32-seat bus, I have also driven a 350 truck, and my biggest dream is to be able to drive a gondola or large truck, I hope one day to be able to fulfill that dream ❤️

I'm no longer a danger on the roads, ha ha. Nowadays, I consider myself an excellent driver. Everything I went through back then served as a valuable experience, and today, driving is very easy for me. I have a good command of vehicles. Having had the opportunity to drive several models, I've also learned a bit about mechanics and troubleshooting, which makes driving much easier and helps me avoid accidents.

I perform well. My job as a driver on the roads, driving in rainy climates and on difficult roads, is a job that not everyone can do well, since to do it, you have to love it. Personally, if it were up to me, I would spend the whole day driving. I love vehicles, and of course, I love driving.

If it were up to me I would drive every day or maybe I would continue working in public transport, but in my country it is very difficult to do this job, since the fuel issue is something that is out of our hands, there are days when it is very easy to get, but there are days when you have to endure quite long lines to be able to fill up your vehicle with gas, so it is not profitable, but somehow I still enjoy this pleasure of driving, even if it is for a few moments a day and it makes me very happy to know that I am an expert driver 🥰🚕 🚗
