Hi, dear fiiends!
Last Friday I was solving a difficult problem. I had to choose how to spend the weekend. There were several options. At the local hippodrome, the Russian championship among Russian triplets was held, Moscow celebrated its 874th anniversary, as well as the city of Kolomna, Moscow region. As a result, it was decided to go to Kolomna for the City Day. Looking ahead, I will say that the walk was a success. I really like the historic center of Kolomna and we had a great time!
Kolomna celebrated her 844th birthday with a massive charity run of amateur athletes of all ages. And this race was, perhaps, the most vivid impression of the holiday.
But, in order not to get confused in my story, I would rather show the photos of Saturday in chronological order. It's easier for me.
We went to Kolomna by train. It takes a little over an hour to get to Kolomna, and it takes about 15 minutes from the railway station to the Kolomna Kremlin.
This house is the first thing that I photographed in the city. I am very touched by the wooden Kolomna houses:
We saw a cat on the street. They offered him to arrange a photo session, but the cat did not agree :-)
We went to the Kremlin. An athletics track was laid there. Students from the local sports school supported the runners:
And first of all we went to Kalachnaya. This is a well-advertised store (pictured on the right) where rolls are baked according to old recipes.
I have been to Kolomna many times, but I tried kalachi only today.
Kalach. It was very tasty for me!
Cathedral Square of the Kolomna Kremlin:
We went to the Novo-Golutvin Monastery, which is located right there, on Cathedral Square. Usually there are always a lot of people, but on Saturday there were few people. I even allowed myself to take a couple of pictures inside the monastery church:
And one more wooden Kolomna house. I don't know how comfortable it is to live in these houses, but they look very cozy:
I really liked the performance of the drummer girls, who also supported the participants in the charity run. I even regretted that I had not recorded the video. They impressed me!
Runners:
The finish of the track was on the territory of the Speed Skating Center:
All participants were awarded commemorative medals, and those who wished could take a picture with a sign "I ran 10 kilometers":
The children were not bored either:
After that we decided to walk to the temple of the Archangel Michael, as it was one of those sights of the city that we had never visited.
The cathedral is very majestic from the outside:
Everything inside is very modest:
Then we walked a little more around the Kremlin and its environs and decided to have lunch. Our choice fell on the Knyazhich cafe. The place turned out to be pretty, we ate hearty and tasty:
After lunch, we realized that we were tired and no longer wanted to walk and that we could catch the high-speed train, so we quickly moved towards the station.
Thus ended our Saturday walk.
Thank you all for your attention and supervision!
Love the monastery church. Beautiful 💖
