Life is for living, right?
That self-upgrade to first class is funny AF 🤣
Your story sounds familiar to those of my husband during his younger Glastonbury days. He tells similar tales and I like your adventurous mind.
You were lucky to make your way back to the straight and narrow path unlike a close friend of mine who still suffers from schizophrenia.
marijuana, specifically, is touted to be (arguably) the worst drug a person can use if they have any small leaning towards psychosis
I think I've always known my limits, and growing up I was often on a natural high, which made many suspects that marijuana was a close friend... There are claims that the marijuana in Jamaica is of a high grade, and I've seen people adversely affected by it... whether it was "pure" or not, I'm not sure. That's one of the reasons why I protected myself from it or any other substance.
thoughts that come through when a person is struggling to make sense of things.
It's simply a more lateral way of the mind expressing itself, and trying to bring certain experiences into awareness, that needs to be listened to with open-mindedness and curiosity to be understood
That sounds legitimate!
A great story, and good on you for being open and helping others who might be going through similar circumstances.🌈
Thanks! I thought he'd upgraded us as a surprise. I was pretty embarrassed but yeah - he was funny as hell. 😆
I think you're right. The "high grade" stuff they grow now is also really "psychedelic" and intense so it's very little like the stuff we had back then. But in South Africa we also had pretty powerful strains of Marijuana - Durban Poison and Transke Magic were the big ones back then. They were still naturally grown though.
If you have Qi Gong you don't need any mind altering anything. That is more powerful than any drug on the planet. The friend I tagged has done it for many years and he has a great story about going to class coming off a party night one morning.
And his teacher taking one look at his pupils (the eyes not the people) and saying something like, "Oh. You want to get high? Let me show you something..."
Some Qi Gong was shared that showed my friend exactly why there was no need to use anything other than his own breathe and energy.
I hope he shares it here. But I've probably ruined the story... so you'd better make an appearance @mattimix or I'm gonna steal your jokes as well 😈
Re the schizophrenia - I'd suggest you look at Gregory Bateson's "Double Bind" theory.
I think he nailed it. And this makes the most sense of explaining schizophrenic reactions that I've ever come across.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_bind
We tend to label the person as whatever these days. But it's actually their reactions that these so called diagnoses are supposed to categorise. Not the people themselves. This is ch 2 of the cook I'm sticking up on Hive in a nutshell :) (More to follow!)
And thank you. We all need to be of service with what can share, I think. This is my service and it keeps me focused as well ... 👍
💯%
Ooh, I'm very interested to hear from @mattimix. I'll keep an eye out for his work:)
That double bind theory is new to me, but it makes absolute sense, so I'll read up more about it for sure!
I think you two will get on great and just messaged him to say I met you and to get over here asap.
See you around then. I'll be staying in touch for sure.
