A City Tour to Remember: A Compilation of Memories Visiting Some Must-See Destinations in Cebu City

The Lord has risen!! (Trumpet sounds) and it seems this blog has, too! (LOL)

This post has been long overdue but I'm glad I'm able to post it today. It's been a while since I visited some tourist destinations in Cebu City, and with the invitation of a good friend, I couldn't say "No" as I also thought this could be the best time to catch up and make good memories together!

My blog, exploring the famous Sachiko's Little Kyoto was a truly a beautiful experience.

Today, let me share with you the Memorable City Tour one weekend to the popular must-see destinations in Cebu City: The Temple, The Mountain View, and the Downtown!

Greece Feels in the Temple of Leah

Built in 2012, this grand temple has been popular for the past years but I never had the chance to come and visit this place. So, this was on top of our list! This city tour happened in February last year and the Entrance Fee, then was ₱120.00 or $2.90. Opens daily from 11:00-8:00 p.m., this grand edifice has become a tourist attraction that allures local and international tourists.

Since it is situated on top of a hill in Barangay Busay, Cebu, City, you have to take these concrete stairs or have the wider pathway if you are bringing your favorite wheels.

The moment I reached the top, I was amazed at how huge the structure was. The symbol of the love of a man for his wife, this temple stands proudly bearing the romantic side of a husband who adores and loves his wife unconditionally.

Inspired by classical Roman architecture, specifically the Parthenon in Athens, Greece, the Temple of Leah is a stunning architectural feat.

Heading inside the temple, the nine-foot bronze statue of a true Queen Leah V. Albino Adarna will surely amaze visitors as she shines with elegance and sophistication at this very conspicuous spot.

Some details about the construction of this state-of-the-art structure are visible at this corner making known to every guest the beauty of the undying love and ceaseless devotion (as shown in the frame) of Mr. Teodorico S. Adarna Jr. to his loving wife for 53 years, Leah Albino Adarna.

Using advanced construction technology, the temple is built to withstand the test of time and is hoped to retain its grandeur and beauty in the next 3,000 years.

Well, I guess the next pictures will somehow prove the integrity of the temple's foundation and the quality of the materials used with adherence to engineering principles and standards.

The Spacious View Outside the Temple

This is a perfect spot to have a magnificent view of the city.

Though it was quick, it was truly a wonderful experience visiting this beautiful place in Cebu!

Quick Refreshment at Chix Boy BBQ

The brief tour I had to the Temple of Leah made us crave for some refreshments due to the scorching heat so just a few minutes away from the temple through a habal-habal or a motorcycle for hire in Cebu, we decided to stop at Chix Boy BBQ. As we were still quite full of the brunch we had at Little Kyoto before dropping by the temple, we just wanted to have some light snacks at the place.

"Perched atop the rolling hills, nestled amidst the lush greenery, lies this charming barbecue spot offering panoramic view of the city.

Rustic wooden tables and benches scattered under the shade of the roof and out at the open areas provide a cozy setting for patrons to savor their meals while relishing in the serene beauty that stretches out before them.

This spot may not be the best place to dine while the sun is still up, but it is cozy and perfect at dusk or nighttime.

Serving fresh seafood, chicken, and pork dishes, the place will surely meet your standards.

While waiting for your order, you can smell the aroma of sizzling meat and seafood that fills the air, blending with the fresh breeze that sweeps across the hilltop. With each bite, you can taste the expertly grilled flavors and the essence of nature itself, making dining at this hilltop barbecue spot an unforgettable experience.

To quench our thirst and at the same time enjoy this beautiful view, we just had some shakes and fresh buko juice.

Last Stop: Faith Brings Us to the Downtown

Thinking of dropping by the historic Basilica Minore del Santo Niño, one of the oldest Roman Catholic churches in the Philippines, to light some candles and offer our prayers, we headed downtown which was about thirty (30) minutes from our last stop, the barbecue place at the hilltop.

It appeared that I was not well acquainted anymore with city life especially in the downtown area after moving to the countryside in 2009 and a lot of changes have been happening since then. The perfectly fine weather prodded us to take a walk around to enjoy the day. Our feet brought us to this place just outside the church.

The New Sto. Nino Chapel

The Little Park just across the Cebu City Hall

Quite amazed at how the place is well-maintained, we spent a few minutes at this spot.

The Puso Village

"Puso" is a term in the Cebuano language that refers to a traditional way of cooking rice wherein it is wrapped and boiled in woven coconut leaves, resulting in a distinctive triangular shape. Not quite sure whether this place was already open to the public when I last visited there, but for sure this must be another spot for street food eaters who love "puso" to go with their favorite dishes.

Bora Bay at Carbon Market

I have posted a blog about this place if you want to check it out but I included a few photos in this post being part of this wonderful city tour weekend experience we had.

Our life is full of memories that we never want to forget. We all love a good trip down memory lane. Sometimes all it takes is a familiar smell or a particular taste to evoke an old memory.-Quote.cc Team

Whew! You can imagine how this city tour was exhausting for me being in many places in just one day and still having to spend three hours to travel back to my hometown. But for sure, it was all worth it!

And this is all for today's blog dear Hive friends. Thank you for reaching this far. See you again soon!

Happy Easter to all!
