Euthanasia, ending the life of an ill human to limit suffering, is a very contentious issue. What are your thoughts?
My thought on this issue is simple, everything in life ends in death. Death is the final destination for the living. As a living thing, death becomes inevitable and the challenges that confront the living are left behind in death. Life was designed to be enjoyed and not endured. In the world, humans are faced with sickness, war, poverty etc which makes life so unbearable and uncomfortable.
Euthanasia is justifiable to me because freedom from painful experiences as a result of sickness can be put to rest and such a person can be free eternally from it. It's painful seeing someone go through excruciating pains for a long period of time yet all efforts to arrest the situation become stalled. Is it rather proper to allow such a person to wallow in pain or to annihilate to end the pain? It will be so unwise to permit suffering which will still end in death after all.

In the hospital bed, I remember my little cousin who suffered from anaemia said to her mother "will this pain go if I die"? Upon hearing this we all cried out because the baby was going through excruciating pain. Every effort put into her surviving the sickness proves abortive. Most times watching your loved ones in pain can be disheartening and the only way to salvage the situation is euthanasia.

Enduring pain for a longer time for me is not worth it, except if such a person is responding to the treatment given to him. It's a bad omen to spend a lot of resources to salvage a life that will still die in the end. Rather than let him suffer, you let him rest.
That's my take on the issue.
