RE: Weekend-engagement week 67: The important week

in Weekend Experiences • 3 years ago

I mulled over this topic of yours since I saw the post yesterday (when it had a fraction of today's comments 🤣) and finally decided okay, I'll comment.

It is extremely hard to narrow it just down to three important 'things' but to sum it up, in no particular order I'd go health - happiness - freedom.

Freedom - monetarily, physically, and psychologically be able to make choices. Thinking about partners, friends, even family, voting, travels, jobs, creativity, but also computer, camera painting supplies - really too many things to name them all

Health - enabling us to make the most of our freedom

Happiness - enjoying this one life on Earth we are given through health, freedom, and everything around them

Health, happiness and freedom are amazingly important as is each person's idea of these things. You clarify freedom really nicely and tie it in with your other two choices well.

Can I ask, what is something you have or do, that is one of the least important in the grand scheme of life?

You know that you can ask me just about anything, however, very honestly I find this question even trickier than the original one.

Looking at me and the life I'm living I cannot pinpoint one 'thing' that is least important to me. I have lived long enough that almost all things I have serve a good purpose. If need be I can live without a lot of them e.g. physical books - I love them, but these days 99 % of the time I read on my iPad and there are other physical things.

When it comes to what I do - unfortunately, I don't think it is possible for me to not have my job and certainly my art is very important to me and sports are important for my health. I could do without traveling, I guess - as 2020 has shown us - and live through the internet.

Looking back at my life I would say that one of the least important things I've done is buy expensive cars 😜. Though they were a lot of fun at the time, but that money was wasted.

Hey, great answer, and I enjoyed the journey to it, the ticking off of items.

I agree with your response though. I've had many very expensive cars and a total of 45 cars in my 51 years of life...Seems such a waste now. I know work out what I need and buy that - Need over want.

Good answer here. Thanks. (I wanted to push you a bit harder.). 😇

45 (!) cars?! How? Why? What the... that's crazy🥴

Yeah. I know. I had two at once sometimes. But...Somehow that doesn't really justify it I guess.

No justification needed. I'm sure at the time it was what you needed/wanted/enjoyed and then you moved on.

It was dumb. But sometimes it takes hindsight to see it. 🤔

😂 I can see you were trying to sum it all up but it turned out to be a long list again.

Those three things you mentioned are indeed very important to anyone of us and thanks for mentioning them.

I hope you're having fun with the weekend engagement 😊 cause I'm so swelling up with fun right now.

True. I have lived long enough to have found the really important things for me personally. IMO it really isn't possible to narrow them down to just three. But - I tried. And failed 😭.

😂 No section for tears here dear
You don't have to narrow it all down to three, just mention three and state the one most important among the three.

We all have more than three things that are important to us, so go go go 😊

See even that isn't possible. Importance changes by the day/week/month year. What's important to me today, may be totally irrelevant tomorrow.

If you want to know three things that are important to me right now?

  • Time to create my art
  • Having the means i.e. supplies to create art
  • Internet/computer to connect with other people around the world
