Hello!! today enjoying an adventurous weekend and we will make a magical trip to the mountain range of Madeira Island, just 10 kilometers from "Pico Arieiro" which would be one of the three highest peaks in Portugal with more than 2000 meters, this This small path of only 3 kilometers is special because we are inside the "Laurissilva" nature reserve, but it is not only about delighting ourselves with beautiful views, we are also in one of the most famous places for birdwatching in Portugal! Why visit the "Miradouro dos Balcรตes"๐ฒ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ฆ
If you are a nature lover, if you love photographing birds and other animals, then I recommend you to take this trail, as well as being able to exercise a little and enjoy the Madeira mountain range, a special place where its great biodiversity stands out, this island has more than 30 unique insect species that cannot be seen anywhere else on the planet! a pleasant climate allows you to make the tour at more than 1000 meters high. more than 15 thousand hectares of land await you for your new adventure! the adventure usually lasts half an hour.๐๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ฆก๐ตโโ๏ธ
We are travel addicts, and we are always organizing our next adventure! and we had never visited this viewpoint and of course we went through here to live this experience! I cannot say that this path does not have its level of demand because I would lie! starting we must climb many meters and stairs, the advantage is that the landscape distracts you and you do not feel tired! I would like to recommend that you visit the place with your own vehicle since there is no transportation to here! Since my passion is birds, I needed to photograph a Fringilla coelebs maderensis, which is an endemic bird of the island and perhaps it would be my only opportunity to see one! wish me luck!๐ฆ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐งญ
What can we do in the viewpoint???๐ฒ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ฆ
I was already half a kilometer from my final destination and well I was captivated by the beautiful mountains! Among the things you can do here is: (hiking, camping, enjoying the gastronomy in a restaurant, birdwatching among others), basically everything is summed up in natural activities! before starting the trail there is a restaurant called "ribeiro frio snack" they sell some famous clubsandwish, what luck I was favored with the weather it was sunny and this allowed me to photograph the mountains!๐ฉ๐๐ณ๐๐
Portugal is a very small country and unfortunately we are very dependent on tourism! but when a person wants to travel to europe they think of france, italy but there are few who know the potential of our country and well my job is to make known all the natural beauties that we have for tourists! Over the years, a lot of money has been invested in these trails that little by little have become a challenge for hikers, because some routes are up to 20 kilometers long and are very difficult to travel! but can you imagine walking 20km with landscapes like these? spectacular right?๐๐ฉ๐งญ๐ฒ
An unforgettable experience๐ฒ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ฆ
I don't know how to explain the feeling when we passed through this mountainous forest! you feel that cold product of the mist and at the same time the sensation of peace and being relaxed because you are interacting with nature! Normally, when I do a trail, I don't like to repeat it, but without a doubt, I would be able to visit it again to have a picnic or bring my birdwatching equipment๐ท๐ตโโ๏ธ๐ฒ๐ฆ๐ผ๐ท.
Bingo!! I had fulfilled my goal to see the Fringilla coelebs maderensis species, which is an endemic bird from the island of Madeira, you practically cannot see it anywhere else in the world! They are very social birds and interact a lot with us! Over the years the bird has lost its fear of us and they are able to perch on your hands!๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆฉ
here we see a sign that indicates the species of birds that we can see in the "Miradouro dos Balcรตes", about 20 species of all possible colors and sizes! We were already very close to reaching the end, I felt a little uncomfortable because if there were many people I could see fewer animals but on this date the viewpoint is not very crowded!๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฉ

Wow, it was cold here! I did not expect a cold like this in a small "tropical" island, I remember that I had read that there are many workers in organic beekeeping! the island lends itself to creating some honey products! isn't that a fantastic sight?๐๐๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ท๐ผ
It was a change in nature! wow!! I saw much more animals, quite a few birds, and the best view of the "Ribeiro Frio" valley, there are some hikers who make a path from here to climb about 1800 meters high, but of course it is a feat of a couple of days because it is a path of more than 30km between the dense forest full of descents and very demanding climbs!๐ตโโ๏ธ๐ตโโ๏ธ๐งโโ๏ธ๐งโโ๏ธ
It was a magical experience of only two hours and it is very interesting for a weekend! as you can see many people fed the birds and well it is something strange because they are wild species! I hope you enjoyed my visit!๐ฎ๐คฉ๐จ๐ฉ๐๐ฉ
