WE 81- Bearly Able To Knit

in Weekend Experiences2 years ago

Hi dear weekenders!
The past two weekends I was very lucky with topics that really suited me, but of course my luck was about to turn. @galenkp thought it was time to explore our creative sides. Only problem is I am about as creative as a doorknob...

As a kid I always did very poorly at any types of crafts and in high school I nearly failed design and technology after making a desk lamp that never worked and lighting a project on fire accidentally..... In the end I got a pity pass.

But Even I Have Some Creativity in Me
I have spend the past days trying to figure out what the hell that I do is creative and I asked everyone in the house to help me think. It was the boyfriend (bless him) that at some point said: well you knit sometimes don't you?
And I do! It is a lockdown hobby that I picked up when we had a curfew and couldn't go anywhere.

And see here my current project! You will say but Pauline what is that bear doing with that miniature scarf? Well, I quickly found out I had neither the skill nor the patience to knit a human sized scarf. I tried but it always had mistakes or was abandoned by me after about a week because I just don't have patience.

Knitting for Bears
At the same time I was having a little bear issue. You see my bear (Beri) and I have been inseparable for 31 years. However, Beri is having a problem at the connection of his arms, the fabric is getting super frail there. And so I thought why not knit him a scarf that can keep the arms together through pressure? And voila....

Now since our visit to the UK we picked up my boyfriends old bear (just named bear) and so now we are in lockdown again I decided to knit him a scarf as well. A nice red one to suit his fur as you can see in the first picture.

I guess it just goes to show that even the least creative among us can be a tad creative sometimes! But I look forward a lot more to seeing your actual creativity!
Oh and I have decided to tackle the human sized scarf once more! Here a sneak peak..

Good luck with the human scarf, you sound like me in the patience game. I would rather paint a wall than sit and knit!

Well done on show and tell at least both bears have scarves showing no favoritism between the bears.

Oh yes I would much rather paint a wall than sit and knit! Knitting requires quite some patience and I have hardly any...

Know the feeling, never been able to enjoy, your patience has paid off though.

And G-dog decreed...

Let there be creativity

...And there was creativity.

And G-dog decreed once more...

Let there be a Plint scarf of my own

...But I don't like my chances.

Hahaha well if and that is a big if I managed to finish this scarf you will have to come pick it up in the Netherlands, the postage to the other side of the world will be a bit much

Lol...Flights are only about $8,000AUD...No worries, I'll come and pick it up...When crypto goes nuts!

You are creative after all :) Beri is happy now :) I believe you will be able to finish knitting that human-size scarf.

Haha thanks! I have good hopes this year around as well that I can finish a long scarf!

All the best and the recipient of the scarf would surely be amazed :)

Merry Christmas!🎄 I'm not very creative either, although I can knit even human-sized scarves, lol But my mom kept to her all the creativity in my family, and she didn't leave us much in that sense neither to my sister nor me. I'll see what I can come up with for this weekend's post. ;)

Haha this one is a hard one for us non creative lot! Good luck, look forward to seeing yours!
