I’ve had the opportunity to tell you guys a little bit about my childhood. But don’t worry am not gonna bore you with one of those old stories. I’ve had lots of adventures as a child and now I am left wondering which of those adventures will be interesting to talk about.
I’ve taken a lot is risks for someone my age. I’ve done things which I was not supposed to do in the first place cause I had no idea about them. I’ve been involved in accidents which could have been prevented but due to my negligence, I've been caught up. So today I will talk about my motor accident; don’t get me wrong, I know some of us call vehicles motor. But down here when we say motor we mean a motorcycle.
Where I can from it’s quite not a big thing to see a kid riding a motorcycle. A kid riding a motorcycle in town without a helmet or any of the safety measures is seen to be normal because even the adults don’t apply any of the safety measures. It happens that I didn’t grow up in tamale where motorbike riding is quite normal. I grew up in the Volta region where you hardly saw anyone on a motorcycle. So imagine you never see anyone on a motorcycle, how will you even learn how to ride? I didn’t have the opportunity to learn how to ride and to be sincere I was never interested in learning how to ride. It happened that we were not on a permanent stay in the Volta region but were only there because my dad was transferred there. Fast forward to retirement we came back to tamale.
My dad had already put things in place for our return, and my siblings were already in tamale and settled down years before we went back home. As curious as I’ve always been I wondered why we didn’t have a motorbike at home. In Tamale, most houses have something we call the home bike which anyone in the house can have access to. In my case it was different. My dad and mom refused to get one for the house hence my senior brother got one which I was not allowed to touch. My senior sister got hers later which I was not allowed to touch too. My mom was my problem too😂, cause she was so scared of the motorbike hence she forbade me from riding.

My sister tried teaching me a few times but she refused and continued to warn her not to teach me because she knows I will wanna take it to town or something. Well, she was not wrong as I did try to take it out one day. But before that, I made sure I knew a few things about riding before taking it out. I practiced a bit in the yard before going out with it. When I took it out something in me wanted to go out and who off to one of my friends who finds joy in ridiculing me for not knowing how to ride.
Unfortunately, when I arrived he was not at home. So I had to turn back. I took a different route to the house. Unfortunately on my side as I was trying to take a sharp curve a lady who was also riding was coming in the opposite direction. I blew my horn to alert her but it seemed she was too scared to make a move. I tried taking a different path into the bush but then she was also scared and took that same part. I ended up colliding with her.
When I stood up the first thing that run through my head was how the bike was doing. My fear was confirmed when I picked the bike up, it was broken(the covers). I didn’t even listen to the lady apologizing, I took the motor straight to a repairer’s shop to see if they could help me in fixing it. When I arrived at the shop the repairer said things had to be bought. At that time I had nothing to repair the bike so I was him to fix it a little for me which could give me time to gather some money to fix the bike.
I brought it home and packed it the way it was packed. My sister had travelled to school so I had some days to try and see if I could get money. I was expecting money from bet but then it didn’t go through. I was left broke and was forced into telling my mom. She scolded me and told me she warned me not to take the bike. She said I was lucky nothing happened to me. She told me to inform my sister before she got home from school.

I texted my sister and told her what happened. At first, she didn’t believe me cause she thought I wouldn’t take the motor out. When she got home she saw the shape in which her motor was and almost skinned me alive😂. I had to run for my life. She took it to a repairer and for about one month she scolded me for it. I was not allowed to touch the bike for a long time. But now I know how to ride so I take it out from time to time.
I was lucky the accident was not severe hence I had no injury. I’ve seen people involved in minor accidents and had fracture from it. Because of this accident, I ride slowly this time to prevent myself from entering into another accident. I was lucky the path was not as busy as others if not I would have been hospitalized.

This is the only viable thing to do immediately after a bike accident, I used to do this a lot when I was a kid and crashed my bicycle. 😂
😂😂In my case I had to make sure it was fine cause I knew I’d be in a lot of trouble.
Yep, I understand. In my case it was because my parents couldn't afford another one and I'd have no bike if I ruined it. I managed to make it last.
This reminds me of how my brother and I struggle and pleaded with my parents till we got a bike😂. When they finally bought one for us it didn’t last and that was it. We’ve had only one bike in our lifetime.
Yes, that's a familiar story. Not having much made me respect what I had, treat it better, and that's carried on throughout my life. It was a positive and valuable lesson to learn.
Takashi boy 😂.
Of course that’ll be the first you do. After taking something that doesn’t belong to you out and knowing your sister very well you life would be second. 😂
You were very fortunate to not have had severe injuries.
Oh the accident wasn’t that serious. I wasn’t riding fast and the later was not riding fast too.

Oh. I almost said you should have listened to mum... But, no, I break rules too, and I am rooting for you. If you didn't do this maybe you would have had to touch a bike in your whole life. But, please be careful, so you don't lose your life while breaking rules.. hehehehe.
😂😂haha. Breaking rules have taught me a lot of good and bad lesson.
If it has not taught me anything it has taught me not to do the too risky stuff.
Hahaha .... Thank goodness, you have learned a lot from it. 😅

Hahaha. This reminds me of when I way back I was learning how to ride. I too had a little accident but mine was in the night. So when I broke the cover I bought glue to put them back thinking she wouldn’t notice that night😂.
She didn’t know that night I taught I was clear but unfortunately for me, I was greeted with a belt the next morning😂😆
😂😂am lucky I was all grown by then.if not am sure I would have been beaten very well😂
😂😂
Trust that you will always break any rule there is. But this one de3, I’ve done some just that I came back in one piece 😂
😂😂at least now we have done something bad together. Up until now my mom doesn’t like me riding but I still do.
This is just one thing oo😂😂me I don’t do bad things
