Hello hiver friends! It's me again @saijan19. It's been a long time since I didn't write a blog on this community. It's good to be back again writing and renewing my mind. I just faced some struggles this past few days, but life must go on.
Everyday I always try to become the best version of myself, I make effort to have self-improvement not only for me but for my family now that I have kids that relays on me. Everything change when I became a mother, so I try to indulge myself in learning new things to become a better mother for them. I worked on improving my character and skills by concentrating on my emotional, intellectual, and physical facets of who I am. I’m sharing this blog for you to know how I improve myself and be a better version of myself.
One of my most significant areas of my self-improvement has been in emotional aspect. Especially right now, having kids will really test your patience. So everyday I really control my emotions in front of my kids. When they became really hyper or they melt down and had a tantrum, I calm myself first because when I try to calm them down while having tantrums, I just tend to lose my emotions and it becomes worse. It’s not easy at first, seeing your child having a meltdown, there are guilt in me, asking if I’m a bad mom. But at the end of the day I know that it was a challenge for me to overcome and consistency is really important on controlling my emotions.
I enhance my emotional intelligence by embarking on a journey of self-reflection and being mindful. Medication has been a part of me which has provided me with a clear mind and better understanding of my emotional triggers. I had developed an awareness of my emotional responses everyday when I focused my thoughts and feelings. Journaling was one way of my self-improvement. Writing down my thoughts really helps me process my emotions better and my anxiety becomes easier. Allowing me to engage with my family positively.
I also improve myself by involving myself into trainings to enhance my skills and have knowledge. Like this blog writing I enrolled myself to know this platform and really helps me improve my writing and comprehension skills.
I also read books because I believe it’s one of the components of my intellectual self-improvement. I remember when I was a college student, I have this one professor who always encourage us to read at least one or two pages of English literature or any kind of book as long as it was in English language because it will help us learn and understand English. Reading habits enriches my knowledge and fuels my passion for continuous learning.
Physical wellness is also important for my self-improvement journey. I believe that when we achieve a healthy body it will contribute to a healthier mind. I have a time for exercise every day, I have to be healthy to live longer for my children. I have to be strong not only mentally but physically for them.
I also became aware on what we eat. Every day I make effort to cook healthy and of course delicious food for my family. Cooking at home has become a rewarding activity for me as a mom.
My journey to self-improvement is still ongoing and dynamic. Every day, I continue to evolve not only as a person but a mother.
Thank you @jishan5
