My warmest hello to one and all. How are you? Hope everybody is doing great and well.
Anyways, I would like to share with you my reminiscing experience this weekend.
Being a teacher is not easy. You have to balance your time. Time for your work and time for your family. There were times that because of the busy days, we just let our kids playing gadgets to make them enjoy and entertain.
This weekend, I give my full time spending it my kids and this time the role for the weekend was. No using of gadgets.
I'd come to realize that my kids need a break from playing with gadgets especially since their young eyes might be affected by the radiation.
What we did during the weekend?
I let my kids draw and sketch in scratch folders. They make lettering and cut it until they discovered to make kitchen utensils and play with them afterward. I let them use the space in our house. I don't mind how they scattered and made a mess of those things around. I was also busy preparing their food and snacks.
The Drawing
They draw first a plate to be used in their games. It is formed like an oval shape and then write a word plate😊. It was simple but they were having a hard time making it perfect.
Next, they draw and made a pot with a lid. They used staple wires to fasten those parts of the pot. This time it needs proper measurement and they imagine the real thing and put it into their art.
Next was the cutting of colored materials from old magazines and newspapers. They cut the fish, ice cream, egg, donuts, etc., and paste them in the folder.
The pot was ready but they still need the other utensils as well like a spatula, ladle, knife, etc and that's why they draw them.
I enjoyed watching them while they play. My son was busy making draw, coloring them after, and cutting. Sometimes he cut the lower part of the drawing and laughed. What he did, he started to draw another one and he was careful this time. Colored it and cut it.
After all the utensils were ready, they started to use them and play.
It's Playtime!!!
They set up their play store by using the toy car. My daughter was situated inside their store and her brother was outside and sitting in a chair like a customer waiting for his order.
My son said " I want to order, please" and his sister answered, "What's your order, sir?". I want to have fish, eggs, fruit, and ice cream. My daughter cook and prepared the order and after, she serve it to her customer.
They continue playing with those artistic kitchen utensils they made.
It's fun to watch this game. I remembered the past. When I was young I used to play games like this. No paper wasted! Answer sheets from school will be turned into games that entertained us.
We transformed those scratched papers into a fan, a kite, a frog, a wallet and boats, etc. We enjoyed our childhood days even without gadgets. We don't need to buy expensive toys to be happy just a piece of scratched paper, a pen, and even broken crayons will do for the coloring and it made our day!
Spending quality time with our family is more valuable and weighable. Letting them also play those things that we had experienced before could give them an idea what were the games that were used to entertain us. Drawing and cuttings on a piece of paper could possibly develop understanding and extend patience. This could make them feel and appreciate our childhood days and how we enjoyed them. I

It's a fulfillment if we allocate time for our kids. Ma happy ta if naa sila ma learn sa atua while ga bonding. They will also much closer if they feel they are valued and well taken care of.
One of the best things we can offer to our loved ones is time. The kids were having fun, at the same time learning. Their creative side has been nurtured. Nice one, maam!😊
