Squirrel Sunday - Characters Converge

The squirrels are back for another #squirrelsunday

The king squirrel is safe in the tree with the last walnut on earth. He eats it there full of pride in front of all the other rodent characters.

The wise old turtle warns him from the swamp that pride cometh before the fall. You'd better watch your back with the last walnut of the year my dude!

Soon advanced thieves start converging on the location of the king squirrel and his prized treasure. Old Blackmouth is expert at cat burglar operations... After all he was raised by cats.

P1013844 copy.jpg
The there is Swift Shadow who is expert at using shade to mask his movements before snatching treasured walnuts.

P1013872 copy.jpg
Little Cheap is good at organizing thieves together. He hatches a plot to use Old Blackmouth and Swift Shadow to tag team the king squirrel.

P1013845 copy.jpg
Little Cheap tells Swift Shadow to make himself conspicuous so that the king squirrel will notice him and be distracted long enough for Old Blackmouth to strong arm his way to the walnut.

I see you over there!!! This walnut is still mine you peasant! Suddenly from the side Old Blackmouth knocks the walnut away and it falls to the ground... Little Cheap was there to steal it before it even hit the ground. Off he runs to hide it.

P1013829 copy.jpg
Now the kind squirrel is on the ground trying to find his walnut. Where oh where did it fall...

P1013831 copy.jpg
It seems the old turtle was right, he should have been less conspicuous with his last walnut. Now he has been demoted to a peasant himself searching in vain for walnuts to store for the winter. Meanwhile Little Cheap is hiding out from Old Blackmouth and Swift Shadow as he didn't split the loot evenly as promised.

The wise old turtles invite the former king squirrel to their swamp to eat duckweed with them before winter hits. Perhaps they can teach these swift squirrels some lessons in morality to enhance their longevity.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)

Sort:

How nice and good it is that you can leave the house and admire the animals. The squirrel is very funny.

When the birds aren't cooperating there's always the squirrels to point the camera at. The turtles are quite abundant too, I even found a baby snapper today.

Thanks again @ewkaw :-)

I love squirrels

So do I, fortunately there are plenty right outside my door to find lol.

They're so cute, the little rascals, you'd want to eat them up! I don't mean eat, eat. Like they do in some American movies, shoot a squirrel then, you know?

Haha I know people who eat them out in the country here. They say they are quite nice, nicer than a rabbit but maybe less nice than a chicken. They're much too cute to eat though.
