Life doesn't go all goody goody. It tends to throw ugly occurrences straight to our faces leaving us with scars and bitter memories we often wish we never got to experience.
I have quite a handful of events I would be more than happy to shove down the abyss of my memory. How ironical it is that such things are ones I can't just seem to forget.
They always find a way to resurface in my head whereas the ones I wish to remember for a lifetime seems to fade away effortlessly, much faster than lightning and remembering them thereby, becomes a struggle.

Amongst many others, one thing I had always wished to forget and possibly get erased from my memory would be a fatal road accident I witnessed earlier this year. I find it unfortunate that I remember that day vividly like it only occurred some minutes ago.
It was just like every other day except that I wasn't at home as usual. I headed to a cyber cafe as I had some personal documents pertaining to my academics which I needed to print out, photocopy and laminate a few.
I had just rounded up my quest and walked out of the plaza with my documents all packed in an envelope and walked to the roadside, awaiting a bus to board back home.
One minute I was on my phone, scrolling through stuffs and the next minute, my eardrums were graced with a screech followed by heavy thuds and cracking of bones. Petrified, I looked up and the sight right before me was nothing but a nightmare.

An overturned black jeep with blood pooling beneath the driver's seat, an elderly woman and a much younger lady few feet away from the vehicle, bleeding profusely and their heads twisted in the most unimaginable way.
The moment I took in the gory sight, I felt lightheaded, my knees went weak, my stomach churned, bile rose up my throat and the spewing that followed right after was no surprise.
One car, three humans and simultaneously, three instant deaths... in a matter of seconds.
I don't know how I was able to drag myself back home that day given how disoriented I was but the incidence is still evergreen in my head. Living rent-free. And I would literally give anything if only it means getting it outta my memory.
Images are mine.

Wow, even though it wasn't something that happened to you personally, it was still very intense, and witnessing it firsthand is something we should definitely try to erase from our minds. I'm sorry you saw that scene, and I truly hope you can forget it or at least that those thoughts fade away. Have a great weekend! ✌️
It was intense indeed and bearing witness to it was just too overwhelming for me
