Medical Trial, Would I Consider It

I have worked within the health system. I studied nursing after I finished school and then specialised in mental health. As a nursing student, I worked in medical wards, alongside nurses and doctors, so I feel like I do have some insight into how the medical system works. So many people put their fate in the medical professionals and the care and treatments that they provide. Some of which have saved lives, whilst others have unfortunately destroyed them.

I believe that our bodies are designed to heal themselves, as long as we look after them of course and as long as we do not interfere with the natural healing process. Our bodies are very good at sending signs when they are out of balance, most people go to see their Doctor, at any sign of discomfort. The doctor usually prescribes something for their symptoms, yet rarely gets to the root, unless the symptoms persist.

Then the undergo tests, some of which are quite invasive. I don't believe that we should allow others to go poking around in our bodies. Instead I believe that it is the responsibility of each person to understand how their body works, to understand what affects them and perhaps most importantly to understand that our emotional state, has a huge impact on our physical body.

So if I were to develop an illness, I would look at everything in my life, my physical health and my emotional health. Because it is all connected. We all go through challenging times, times when we really struggle to manage, which can result in us shutting done, turning off our feeling, because it hurts too much. But these feelings don't go away, we just internalise them and they then manifest in physical form. From blockages, to growths. If we don't deal with our shit, it turns toxic inside of us.

Usually the first line of treatment in the health service, is medication. Like I said before, to treat the symptoms, until they can discover the cause. But that medication comes with side effects and more often than not, exasperates the problem. Then more medication is needed and there begins a life long cycle, of being dependant of different types of medication in order to function on a day to day basis.

The mighty Borage. The plant you turn to for courage, when you are faced with challenging times.

There are so many natural remedies available, nature provides us with so much medicine, when you know where to look, you will be amazed. Once you decide to education yourself on the workings of your body and take responsibility for your own well being, you will most likely be able to detect an imbalances, before they become unmanageable. Looking at what you eat, what you consume, in every sense of the word. It all has an effect on our well being and our ability to heal. It's about creating the best conditions for our bodies.

For that reason I choose to not use the health service, I haven't n the last 16 years and when I did, it was because I wanted an community midwife for the birth of my first child. After that I stepped away. So if I did develop an illness, I would never consider taking part in a new medical trail. I would never allow anyone to experiment on my body. There are so many other things I would do, before I would even consider any sort of medical intervention.

This is my response, to the following question put forward as part of the Weekend Engagement Challenge.....

If you were invited to do a clinical trial for a new medical "cure" for an illness you had but the possible side-effects were completely unknown and there was no guarantee of improvement would you do it or not?

Sort:

I wholeheartedly and resoundingly agree with everything that you expressed here, spot on! I also take responsibility for my own health, use nature to heal, and I don't use conventional 'health services', and I'm still the healthiest bugger that I know! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

I knew you would my friend xxx

I'm grateful for that! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Those medical/clinical trials are pitched terribly and so many people go into them thinking there's a potential for a cure...in actuality they're nothing more than guinea pigs.

Not for me thanks.

Guinea pigs indeed, I had some friends in my early twenties, that made some money doing drug trails for pharmaceutical companies in London, I found it crazy. x

Hmm, do they have two heads now?

No, but they have lots of allergy's, which I imagine, feels like they have two heads at times.

You are right, and I support your decision.

It is also a very fascinating subject that not everyone has the opportunity to learn or have contact with. But we already know that it is everyone's responsibility to seek knowledge.

Greetings!

Thanks so much and yes I agree, so many people think that way, they have full faith in the medical system. x

The answer is hell no to any medical clinical trials...the solution is to go back to natural healing as you've outlined.

On a side note i recorded a quick vid yesterday before work, and had you in mind. I have an idea that you and your community of friends may find useful...

Thanks @jin-out I'm going to check out xx

Don't forget to check out the hive and blurt vid (most recent).

Hive is dying hard. I have started switching out my liquid hive (swap.hive) via the hive-engine into blurt (swap.blurt), and sending it over to my blurt wallet. A better savings account.

I'm tellin ya Aish, you will do very well over there, and plus if you bring da ladies and up the babe factor, trust me you won't regret it!
